the problem with this is not everyone has an actual time of day timestamp. I thought it was just my cellphone but when I checked my computer it was the same, just a minutes ago stamp with no seconds.

look closely, this is on my acer laptop, you can see the timestamp says 3 seconds ago. When it gets to a minute it switches to flat minute counting with no seconds noted. I checked the bids, according to the timestamp I have to go by, Cris was the last one under the wire, I use my cellphones time to calculate and ALWAYS state "eastern standard time" as the time I go by, NOT anything on BYC.

YOU have to change the option yourself under account preferences. It won't show the timestamp until you change the option for it.

Show absolute timestamps in post headers <--- The exact wording for the option under "My Profile; Edit Account Details"

Both posted same time but bids are the same amount. So wouldn't the first poster of that bid amount win the auction?

I have already contacted the other two disputed bidders privately and offered them eggs. I only have one pair of these birds. It appeared to me that Cris had won, maybe I was mistaken, I have tiny screens to work with so it is entirely possible... but it was definitely not done deliberately! Iregardless, the other two will get eggs (if they wish to) at the same price. I do not know Cris personally and frankly don't care who wins the rare times I choose to post eggs here. I have fixed the timestamp issues that LTgress pointed out to me, had I known it existed I would have changed it years ago. I have a lot of nice birds, including Jubilees, Pyncheon Bantams, Chocolate Orpingtons, Calico Cochins, Faverolles... cut me some slack guys or I will take my eggs somewhere else. What's done is done and the steps to correct it from happening in the future have been taken.

For future reference on a computer you hover your mouse over the minutes and it will give you the time stamp. This does not work on mobile devices.
