The NEW Crazy 24hr AUCTION thread

Sorry, I thought you were NPIP. If you are NPIP then #2 under VA laws apply in the above link (meaning you are good to go to ship to VA).

Look under the conditions under C...

C. Approval Numbers

1. Each shipper of hatching eggs or poultry shall first secure an approval number from the State Veterinarian. This approval number must appear on each shipping

label or on each container of hatching eggs or poultry shipped into Virginia.

Hatching eggs or poultry shall not be

shipped into Virginia until final approval has been granted and the approval number is received.

Yeah, it definitely reads like you are supposed to do that but out of the dozens of hatchery and personal stocks I've received not one has had that approval number on or in any box. I think it's worth a call to the state vet since it's preventing me from getting your gorgeous birds!

That just means they weren't caught... sorry, but it is illegal... and I remember all too well how a Virginian almost had his entire flock destroyed last year over shipped eggs that were 'suspected' to be contaminated by AI...

I have a dozen Olive Egger hatching eggs up for auction. My hens are ameracanas and my roos are Cooper Marans. I have one French black roo and one blue roo. :)

Bumping your auction... sorry for the chatter...

Btw, when is the end time/date of your auction?

For VA, hatching eggs and day old chicks may be sent on NPIP AI Clean status, or include a veterinary certificate of inspection issued prior to shipment, as well as get a VA permit. All other birds must be tested negative for AI within 14 days prior to actual importation. There is no cost for the permit, which needs to be renewed annually.

The application needs to be sent you your state's NPIP representative who will then forward it to VA. Email [email protected] to get an application or if you have questions.

So far all the other states I've needed permits for only required NPIP participation and the permit. The two difference for VA is the required AI testing, not MG testing, as well as additional testing for older birds just prior to shipment.
