The new (human) baby thread...

Thanks for the reassurance...I knew I could count on you guys! I was just worried b/c he's been so fussy the past couple days, which is not like him. I guess I'll just have to let it work itself out.

sounds normal to a guy

Timmy is the same way when just breast fed.

The green poop is caused by something not digesting properly; he may have a dairy sensitivity, ecspecially if his poop smells kind of sour and is slimey, try cutting dairy out and see if it gets rid of the green poop, it could also be a virus. Check Kellymom.com for more detailed info on it. My son is 14wks and we just got over having green slimey poo for about 2 weeks because it takes that long for the protien to get out of your system, I'm not lactose intolerant but I am allergic to milk as is my daughter so it was obvious what was wrong with my son when he got the gassy, green poo.

Also check for a stuffy nose, rash around his mouth and more fussiness than normal(which you mentioned) all of which points to a food sensitivity most likely dairy.

Also possibly a hind-milk/fore-milk inbalance, but this presents with green forthy poop not slimey or mucosy, this is caused when baby doesnt eat long enough and only gets fore-milk which is sweeter and thinner and not enough hind-milk which is richer and thicker w/ more proiten and calories, baby needs to nurse for at least 15 mins on each side to totally empty the breast and get both fore-milk and hind-milk.

Just an update for anyone interested...Wyatt is back to being his non-fussy self and poop is mostly yellow again. I called his doc yesterday and they said it could have been something he ate or a little bug of some kind. We did go on vacation to the coast last weekend and I ate a LOT of seafood. My husband was also throwing up Monday, so who knows. Doesn't matter now since he seems to be all better.

Yay for Wyatt's yellow poopies! (Welcome to the wonderful world of motherhood, where poop, and burps, and all kinds of used-to-be gross things are celebrated.

Sorry, that just struck me funny. Wyatt doesn't always burp after eating...sometimes I think he's just too lazy.
