The new (human) baby thread...

don't feel guilty, you were doing the best you could with the information you had at the time. Even doctors have a hard time sorting out baby complaints because they can't tell you what's wrong.

and he's cute!

Hey y'all, it's been forever since I've been over here. Haven't been on BYC much in the past few months, either. I'm back in school a couple of nights a week so my life is pretty busy and hectic these days. Well, just wanted to pop in and say "hello". My little one is not a baby anymore. He'll be 2 on the 26th of this month. Sooooooooooooooooo hard to believe how fast his babyhood went by... now he is a happy, busy little toddler. Bittersweet. Anyway, I guess it's time for me to officially retire from this thread. If anyone wants to keep it going, great. Otherwise, it's been fun going through the pregnancy/new baby journey with everyone. Best wishes to all! :)

Hey, hey, you get back here!! Don't you dare leave us after this long!! And I want to see pics of that little one! Wyatt will be 2 July 31, I don't know where the time has gone. I'm 24 weeks along with #2, so not ready at all!

Congrats KellyHM!!! Not sure if I already knew that or not... I haven't been around here much.

So let me pick your brain and anyone else here that has experience... Carly is 7 1/2 months and I would like to start trying for another one at the end of this summer or at end of the year. Not sure on timing just yet, but, I'll be 38 in October and if I want another I don't have all the time in the world to wait around. Nor would I want to wait any longer due to my age and the statistics the OB's try and scare me with. (even though the pregnancy and delivery was smooth sailing with Carly). Anyway, my questions are.... What is it like to have one so young while pregnant? Meaning the energy and/or stress levels to take care of yourself, the baby and a DH, also mood levels and what not. Also, do you feel that having an infant and a 2 year old is a near death experience?? lol

I was sick for a few weeks with this one (like exhausted and nauseous 24/7) and that was rough having to keep up with Wyatt. He went through a pretty bad separation anxiety at that time, which I attribute to me not being as attentive as normal. Thank goodness the sickness only lasted a few weeks this time (as opposed to 12 last time) and not it's not nearly as bad. I am also working 2 jobs, so my house has suffered because I don't have the time to devote to it, but something has to give! I'm excited to have them right at 2 years apart, but I can't comment on how it's actually going to be yet. LOL.

arwyn's 21 months and I'm pregnant again. I'm exhausted, and I have to keep fighting the nausea unless there's someone else around, because he completely freaks out if I start being sick.

But at 37 years old, time is not on my side and I want another baby. Though I do have to say, finding the time to get pregnant with a toddler who wakes up and cries at the first sign of affection between his parents was the hardest part of it.

Hi, Guys!
Hope all is well.
I've been back to work FT for a month now and daycare really seems to be working out well for Drake.
It has also been getting dry at our house with the heat going off constantly- we got a humidifier for baby's room & it has been working great. Keeping the boogies moist and not dry, crusty, or bloody.
We got ourselves a colicky one and are going to head to the Children's Hospital for them to figure out a bottom problem (abscess vs fistula vs ?). Amazing how guilty we feel when we just wrote everything off due to colic, letting our little BubBub writhe in pain. :( We'll know more soon enough and hopefully get things fixed.
Still breastfeeding & pumping at work to keep up with him. Not sure how long it will last but we made it this month and hopefully will make it several more.

Been thinking about you all. Hope you are enjoying your newfound lifestyle.
Here's Baby D for one of his 3 mo shots:

He is a cutey.

Reminds me of my niece who is now 9. My sister couldn't afford someone to take photos so she took her own and did some bare bum pictures. My niece was showing me her baby pictures when I seen her last and she came across the bare bum photos and hurried up and hid them. She was embarrassed that her mom took those. I told her I seen them before and was there when she took them but she still didn't want me seeing them.

Thanks KellyHM and Ebwy2! And congratulations to you Ebwy2. I seem to have gotten behind on who all is expecting again.
