The new (human) baby thread...

Wyatt loves his baths.

He's starting to pull himself up too and can walk pretty fast if you're holding his hands. I am so not ready for him to be mobile!

Feel weird posting this since everyone on here seems to be in the "mommy club" but here are my two youngest (I also have a 16 year old step son). I figure someone needs to step up for the daddys!

The lil' one was born on Valentines Day and her big bro was born last summer.

A friend of mine did that for 8 months after her NICU baby wouldn't take to the breast.

This was me too. Ethan was in the NICU for 6 days and when we brought him home he would not have anything to do with breastfeeding

so I pumped for 10 months... yes, talk about a pain in the rear end... but he is was worth it.

Are you having to pump, Elizabeth?

Yes, I have been pumping since March 30th but not cuz I had to really. If I had kept trying I might could have breastfed but me and baby just didn't have the patience for it.

I've wound up exclusively pumping for all the kids. No matter what I try with any of the kid, I've always had latch problems and it's painful. Then I've got a cranky kid who is hungry, I'm having a breakdown and

So with DD6, I tried to start with pumping and seeing how that went. PERFECT for us.

Plus the added bonus that when I go back to work and DH is home during the day with the babies, they don't have any fuss about taking a bottle.

Sure, it's not as easy having to pack bottles and such with you, and having to pump at odd times. But it is so much easier for us, nursing just doesn't work at all for me. And I'm not starting them on chemical formulas if I can help it.

Wow you just described me! lol With both babies I was in so much pain and so frustrated with both boys not being able to get a good latch I said forget it, the pump wont fight me as much and there wont be any problems when I go back to work. Both times I had to wait at least 4 days befor my milk even came in so by that time I caved into the pressure to feed formula the first days so they were used to the bottle by that point anyway. Still pumped and gave them what I had from day one but it wasn't more than a quarter tea spoon each day until day 4. I get between 38 - 45 ounces a day now so I have a nice stock in the freezer! Actually think pumping is better if you want to stock up. There is no way my son can keep up with what I am putting out and is getting fatter every time I look at him it seems lol.

What brand of pump are/did you use?

We celebrated Ethan's birthday, which is tomorrow, with a party at a park today!

He didn't want to dig into his cake, so DH fed it to him with a spoon. Still, he managed to get some icing on his face.
