The new (human) baby thread...

Wow,

to all of you that aren't getting any sleep. A friend of mine had a baby that wouldn't sleep more than 4 hours at a time and she finally shut the monitor off and let him scream at night when he woke up...took a few weeks of lots of screaming, but now he sleeps through the night, or at least doesn't scream when he wakes up. Thank God Wyatt has slept through the night since he was a couple months old...otherwise DH would really have a fit since I work at night.

Wyatt is almost 11 months and I think the walking is coming soon. He walks all over while holding onto hands or furniture and is starting to let go and stay standing, but hasn't been able to take any steps on his own yet. Can't decide if I'm excited or dreading it.

My third child was like that - he'd wake up in the middle of the night and cry until I put him in my own bed

I think he slept with me until he was a year old. DH got tired of it, made me move the crib and our son out of our room.

Then we didn't hear him up at night, and soon he was sleeping through the night.

arwyn's normally better at sleeping (ha! since when did sleeping become a talent to me?) but he's had a hard week with lots of trying-to-do and failing, usually resulting in a spectacular fall... so he's been having nightmares, presumably about that.

I can't believe he's having a birthday in a fortnight!

erm... must be another of those atlantic differences, fortnight is a normal word here!

I went spending what I will have to be extra frugal to afford this month... and got him some birthday presents yesterday

I thought it was normal too, but apparently I'm weird.

I can't believe he's almost 1! I can't believe Wyatt will be 1 in a little over a month!
