Took Carly in for her 2 month check-up and shots today... Oh my dear heavens!! I cried just as much as she did. It already breaks my heart when she cries, but when she cries so hard she can't breathe????? That's when I cry....

I can't even think about her crying like that without tearing up..

the next round will be better! Shane turned blue his 1st round of shots..I looked at the nurse and said "he's not breathing!" and she calmly said..he will and then he cried super hard and regained color. the 2nd time he barely noticed since I could distract him. We go for our 3rd round of shots next wed and I am acutally excited to go and see what he weighs and talk to the dr about switching to normal formula. wish me luck with the switch

would like to use my similac coupons for the regular formula and go from paying $40/week to paying $20/week for formula. They don't even make alimentum in a large container, I have to buy the small containers or the ready to feed stuff..they really should make the alimentum in bigger containers, but I guess that people would balk at the price of a large container. I would guess they would have to charge $50 or so for a large one.

I did think of delaying them at the least, but figured it might be better to get the majority of them over with while she is still young enough to forget about it. She seems fine. They didn't seem to make her ill or uncomfortable at all. I was mentally ready for a rough evening though, but she did great.

I hope you can. Just the regular stuff is expensive enough, much less the special blends. I breast fed for the first month, but not anymore. My milk couldn't keep up with her appetite no matter what I did, and pumping was a joke....

So all those formula samples and coupons I got in the mail are coming in handy! Once the coupons stop coming, I plan to switch to the Wal-Mart store brand (Parent's Choice). I already tried it once for the spit-up formula and she had no aversions to it. I think is nutrionally equivalent to the name brands anyway! So at almost $10 less per container???? Heck ya!

If you use the coupons from similac/enfamil that you sign up for online (and they are the ones with your name on them) then each time you use them they can tell and will send you more. A few of my friends signed up for coupons and save them for me. I am down to only 1 coupon though!

With all that I have only paid full price for 1 or 2 containers...still painful even with a $5 coupon.
I breastfed for 6 weeks and what a relief the bottle is. When I have another one I will try to breastfeed longer, but I am starting the bottle feedings real quick. I miss the cost of the breastmilk, but not the experience of it. Was too hard with a colicky baby and being a 1st time mom with some degree of ppd, I didn't know what the heck I was doing and I am hoping that next time, with my newly acquired baby knowledge it will be easier. I have a friend that has been breastfeeding for 9 months now and I tell her all the time how awesome she is for it cause I know how hard it is. She has to pump milk at work and has stuck to it. props to all the moms out there that can make it work!

I'm still breastfeeding at 10 months. I hit a rough patch in the first few weeks. Went and saw a lactation consultant and we worked on her latch. What a difference that made. I get lucky because I am a stay at home mom so I don't have to pump. I did experience a decrease in supply when my period came back, but fenugreek really helps with that. My favorite part of breastfeeding is that in the middle of the night I just have to wake enough for her to get latched on, and than back to sleep I go.

Reading over these latest posts makes me NOT miss having a little baby at all.

18 months is so much fun. My little guy is starting to say all kinds of words and we play the "can you say ________" game while I'm changing his diapers. I really

this age... even with the occasional temper tantrum he gives me now.


MrsFuzzyButts, those shots are no fun for mommy, whether it's your first or you fifth baby.

Anyone have any tried and true schedule suggestions? Lylah has been pretty good up to this point, but today she has been a little crying machine, and it's heartbreaking. Sleeping or eating she is fine, but other than that, she doesn't really want anything to do with anything

And that's not like her, at all.

or a painful tummy.
if you are breast feeding, have you changed your diet lately. If you give her formula, have you changed formula?
maybe she's extra hungry?

maybe just a growth spurt too. I have no schedule suggestions, I tried a schedule and it was too much for me since I am a more go with the flow type. But my friend is having great results with a book called Baby Wise (and they come in different volumes depending on age). Had some great ideas in there and may work for a more schedule driven person. It would also be easier if my schedule was the same everyday so that I could keep him on track easier, but not being with him during the day makes that difficult. Check out that book though, it talked about the basis behind the idea and everything.
