Ugh! SMH. Wasn't some partially their fault?
Yes! PGE is a convicted felon for causing fires that killed people as well as causing millions in damage.

They are still going after rate payers to pay for it all. PGE needs to be taken to something more like what Sacramento has with SMUD.

Wow. Only twice a year
The girls only sleep in the coop or go in to get to the nest boxes. Their door opens at the first hint of daylight and they wander the lower part of the barn and (in non snow weather) their fenced acre. Better they should fertilize the land than the coop :)

It doesn’t go good with coffee, but thanks
Janie you need to provide Tequila with the worm so DMC will accept your offering.

Good morning! It is a bit overcast today so we will be having lower temps today. The high will be 79F instead of 90F today.
Way better!

Yeah but .... there are 2 options:
Bankruptcy
Get money from the ratepayers.

Where else is a utility to get money? Bake sales? Car washes?

Of course if they didn't have to run electric lines to towns buried deep in the woods there would be less chance of them being the cause of the fires.

So now they shut the power off when the winds are high to reduce the chance a downed wire will cause a forest fire .... and all the people affected get pissed off because their house has no power for a period of time.

I see no decent solution to the problem.

I can't imagine the expense of running the wires on poles as they are now and that pales in comparison to having to bury them all up and down the mountains. If they did decide to bury them, where would they get the money to do that? From the ratepayers.

Our power lines are buried, but we payed extra for that. On the plus side, we don't have to trim limbs around them.
Off to hide in a closet or bathtub with the cats and dogs (I'll be praying for the chickens) tornadoes are in our area.
