The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning! It is a bit overcast today so we will be having lower temps today. The high will be 79F instead of 90F today.
Hi Ron, I ordered that adapter for the computer yesterday and it came today. I don't know how it got here so fast, but it is good quality and exactly what I was looking for. I can put photos on here and it even has a slot for my bore scope cam and my modem which the new computers don't have. So, I wanted to thank you so much for the link and advice. God bless and much thanks to @ronott1 ❤️ :frow

That is good news! Those adapters are very much needed with new computers.

You can also connect the laptop to a TV.

Exactly!

That's a wonderful experience! Stories like this give me lots of comfort.

That is comforting.

I truly believe soulmates are telepathic in a way. So bizarre and unexplainable but pretty amazing.

:lau

:frow cream puffs to Cali, too? or do I need to tag along with Debby? I Can help move....I'm strong like bull.

:lau
I’m afraid they wouldn’t fair to well
Good morning, Mark. I took a picture this morning( our purple rose of sharon) just for you.

Beautiful!
Good morning Sour.

Good morning, Mad.

Good morning, Sue.

Chill worthy.
I'm not a ghost believer, or so I say, but sometimes stories give me chills.
My oldest brought home an imaginary friend once. My mother stopped at an old house for a garage sale. When we left, my 3 year old insisted on taking her new friend, Shay, home with her. She described her. She had an apron and a bonnet, boots, and blonde hair.
One morning when I was trying to get her little brother asleep, my daughter pointed at the closet shelf, and said "get down Shay!" A couple of photo albums fell off the shelf. It scared me to death. 🥶It still gives me chills when i think about it, but I still can't call myself a believer. On the other hand, I'm very superstitious. We left Shay behind when we sold our house. I was relieved.
I'll be looking for that book.
You gave me goose bumps!
The girls only sleep in the coop or go in to get to the nest boxes. Their door opens at the first hint of daylight and they wander the lower part of the barn and (in non snow weather) their fenced acre. Better they should fertilize the land than the coop :)

Janie you need to provide Tequila with the worm so DMC will accept your offering.

Way better!

Yeah but .... there are 2 options:
Bankruptcy
Get money from the ratepayers.

Where else is a utility to get money? Bake sales? Car washes?

Of course if they didn't have to run electric lines to towns buried deep in the woods there would be less chance of them being the cause of the fires.

So now they shut the power off when the winds are high to reduce the chance a downed wire will cause a forest fire .... and all the people affected get pissed off because their house has no power for a period of time.

I see no decent solution to the problem.

I can't imagine the expense of running the wires on poles as they are now and that pales in comparison to having to bury them all up and down the mountains. If they did decide to bury them, where would they get the money to do that? From the ratepayers.
I’ll skip the Tequila too:sick
Good to hear!
x’s 2!

Our power lines are buried, but we payed extra for that. On the plus side, we don't have to trim limbs around them.
Yes but you don't live in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Nothing remotely resembling "flattish". Think mountains and valleys. Steep ones. Heavily wooded.

Off to hide in a closet or bathtub with the cats and dogs (I'll be praying for the chickens) tornadoes are in our area.
I'm glad they passed by with no damage to you!

God bless and much thanks to @ronott1
Ron is always exceptionally helpful.

Seems to me something is wrong with that. When I replaced my Macbook I specifically didn't get the newest model, they had removed the SD card reader. Original ones had CD drives. Now everything is "here, pay a lot for this computer and a lot more for peripherals that used to be in the machine". Even DW's iMac lost the optical drive, it isn't like the new machine is any smaller than the old one.

I hope everything passes!
We generally always hope for that ;)

Most windows PCs still have most of the ports. Macs have lost most of them though. There is a new MacBook Pro that has both usb-c and mag safe charging and I think an HDMI port. I have one coming in for our Dept. Chair in several more weeks so it will be the first one that I will get my hands on for the new macBook pro.

The new iMac lost the ports but does have an ethernet adapter in the charging brick. Other than that, you have to use a hub for the usb-c port.

It is a big money maker for Apple! They charge a premium for the adapters and hubs.
