The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Tee hee CTKen thank you .. I wasn’t worried but now I am not so sure that I do not need to be ;)

Seriously now; our paths have crossed [in a nice way] many times and it is nice to officially meet you.
Ditto that !

I'm Chris to everyone here (among other names, I'm sure) so feel free to call me Chris or whatever else springs to mind

Cool Blooie, I too very often strike out on the imagined pictured verses the real thing.

Hi there NickyKack, great to meet you!  Not loving Australia too much myself at the moment .. I’m melting :sick

:frow I've seen you around some, but don't think we have interacted much. Hope to get to know you! Glad you joined us.

I am primarily referred to as "WV" but I'm sure a few other terms have slipped in there on me also. ;)

I'll let her stick around for a while before I throw out any of your other names.... Mr. Barber. ;)

Thanks Chris … my name is Teila; apparently my imagination was not in overdrive when I chose my BYC handle

Hi there WV yeah, I have seen you around too; definitely looking forward to getting to know you.

I might settle in and get comfy before I start on the name calling; I do not want to have my first day end in a

@N F C thought I'd show the beginning of my egg embroidery. Obviously not finished yet, but I'm liking it.
Started with simple designs, so don't laugh yet. It's easier than I thought, so later ones will be better.

Oh, this is a Serama egg! I have a duck egg ready to work on next. :D

How on earth do you embroidery an egg? A closed egg at that. How do you loop the thread and work the needle through?

Hi there Friday, great to meet you! Good handle, everyone loves Friday!

Well, I can definitely go home and say I made some friends on my first day and learnt something new

I have not heard of egg embroidery so had to Google that one; very clever.

Yay, @Teila you made it over here! And not only did you get here...you didn't run away in fear, lol. Glad to see you, several of us shared photos of ourselves a while back...so see, without even knowing that, you fit right in

WV, good job on the egg embroidery! To the rest of you, I guess that started in one of the mini contests we have going on:

Amazing stuff, isn't it.

Time to grab another cup of coffee. Good morning everyone!

Looks like magic, huh? But pretty simply, you use the holes on the opposite side of the egg. The needle has to extend all the way across the egg, so I had to buy longer ones for the duck eggs, but it's really pretty nifty.
I did see some videos online about cutting a big hole in one side of the egg, but I think the whole egg looks much better!
