Forgot to add...Moe (my Welsummer rooster) is finding his voice. Hilarious! He sounds like a 13 yr-old boy going through the voice change.

We actually had a couple of hours today to do some work on their permanent home. They'll all be more comfortable with more space and I'm going to enjoy it being big enough to sit with them.

I love the squeaky rooster period. :D

I'm glad to see you got resituated with chickens Debby. I'm sure you are. :)

You can do it DMC! Just make sure it's worth ($$) your time :)
Thanks for the vote of confidenceI usually make about 4 dozen and give it for a bridal shower gift...this lady is a friend and we are invited to the wedding. I told her they won't be fancy like I usually do for showers as it's too many and it's just me. I wouldn't have a clue how to charge...

I guess you could give them in lieu of a wedding gift? It's going to take quite a bit in materials and time to do so many but with it being a friend, that might be awkward to charge. Or just charge for the materials and give your time as the gift.

I'll come up with something....or tell her no as the stress might kill me! The frosting takes a long time to dry and I'm worried about the cats! I had to put them in the bathroom when I was doing the cupcakes. If it's meant to be things will fall into place...right?

cutout cookies for a wedding in September for 300

300 !. IMO no one would ask anyone to do that for free. And having to isolate the cats would be near impossible. But if you do take on the task, you could pick a recipe that freezes well, make a stacking drying rack you can cover to keep out paws and hairs :hmm. And call a bakery to inquire about an order of similar cookies so you can set a price? That's a lot of groceries and tremendous amount of time involved. Wonder if you ask the solicitor to buy your supplies and pay your time, they may withdraw the request?

Would love to witness that :) - so much better than a mature hen starting to crow :lau

It took us longer to get ours done - but they are loving their new place. Because it is part of the larger coop/run - we can barely squeeze in to tend to them, wish I had a place inside there to sit ----- DH said I could just sit on the ground :sick.

So, you are gonna keep Moe? :wee. I was worried one of mine would be a roo, but we decided early on to keep it regardless. So far I think all are gals.

If the neighbors complain, just act stupid and tell them you have no rooster:cool:
