I got tired of waiting for the workers to finish and it was way past planting time for them.

Thanks, i hadn't considered all those definitions of flighty! I guess I just meant like skittish/easily scared and/or fly or run away when you approach.

None of mine are particularly flighty at BOSS and scratch time, food is a great motivator for a chicken The "less friendly" ones don't come to see me when I come out of the house, the "friendly" ones head right over. And I'll tell them "I got nuff’n "
During the time of the year when they are still outside when DW gets home, they charge her car. She has an apple most every day.

That's awesome! Mine are usually penned but they all pace the fence when i come out and wait by the gate.

I might start letting them out again but I'm scared of predators now. But i suppose the more time they have out, the more they get used to it and learn the alarms/how to hide?
