The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Cut that Montana pop in half and that's about what WY is.

And that's just fine with me!
Me too! The county I was born in was low in population. The big City had about 10,000 in it then. Now it is 14,000. Red Bluff is the county seat of Tehama County

Where I grew up in KS the population was around 130,000. Never did care for that many people in one place and always wanted to live in a small town.

The dot in the road where our mail goes now has about 400 in it. Casper seems kind of big to me now, but we won't be there forever. Oh course, my mom laughed at me for thinking Casper was too big but then she lived in Denver forever (that's now around 3 million).

Guess it's mostly whatever you're used to.

The little town that was closest to me growing up was about 150 people, Weston, Texas. My father was the first mayor of Weston and actually did all the legal footwork to incorporate the town because the big city of McKinney, Texas 16,000 pop. wanted to annex Weston.
There were no city taxes, the mayor, city council, fire department were all volunteer. My dad won election in a landslide but didn't want to be the mayor, all he was trying to do was prevent McKinney from annexing Weston and having to pay city taxes to McKinney for services that weren't even provided.
A bunch of small towns around Weston got annexed because they didn't do their incorporation in a legal proper manner.
McKinney is now the fastest growing city in Texas.

Just our population is small. Yellowstone Park alone is almost the size of the state of Connecticut! :th

Oh wow! I didn't realize it was so big! Now I'm kind of nervous to go there because I'm kind of OCD and want to see EVERYTHING and that could take years :lau  nervous probably isn't really the right word but I can't think of a better one.

Kinda like West Texas an abundance of sparce vegetation. Culbertson county population 2,231 Hudspeth county 4,008 Jeff Davis county 2, 281 Brewster county 9,000 in 2017. Less than 18,000 in 4 counties! Those are the largest counties square mile wise in Texas.
Most of Brewster county is Big Bend National Park. Which is bigger than Rhode Island.
