The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Well I guess Texas isn't like Chicago. Thank goodness. Testifying against anyone in Chicago can lead to sudden/ permanent disappearance.
Scary!!
Oh I'm sure they wanted me to disappear...that's why they were trying to bribe me...( the city engineer invited me to his house to discuss the matter) sorry I can't be bought! I was under the microscope during the hearings. Everyone involved in the accident was pointing fingers at eachother, me, the city, the state....unreal.
Wow...glad you’re an honest person.
i have to go get the root canal in the morning then go across the street and have the hole hes going to drill filled, going to be a long day and i hate dentist work, not the dentist, but i don't like having the shot, i tend to tighten up as he works and have to keep telling myself relax, probably won't sleep worth a flitter tonight but i better go try to sleep since we have to leave early to get thru the heavy traffic to get there in time
so good night y'all
Hubby went without novocaine yesterday. He had a crown put on. He hates the shot.
sharron, I'll go have the dental work for you - you just have to pay the bill.

Sometimes I almost fall asleep in the chair- they think I died or something. I really should play along and all of a sudden bolt upright with wild eyes. Maybe even speak in tongues.
:gig
Yay, glad your stove is fixed now DMC! Ahhh, a humnucker....ufda!

Your new agent sounds terrific Jae, let's hope things move faster now!

We had a similar situation when we had our place in north FL Sharron. All the roads out our way were sand and when those torrential FL storms would roll through, look out cause that sand would be rolling right off the road and into the yard. Hope you can get something done about it!

Seriously, a doughnut house?! :lau

Hope your dental work goes well today!
Thanks Debby! You crack me up:lol:
Morning all :frow

Sharron best of luck at the dentist
DMC Glad your stove is fixed
Jae fingers crossed for you:fl
Thank you, me too!!

Morning all!

Jae, this agent may be the one!! Fingers crossed!

DMC, glad that your stove is fixed. Ken says people toss so many appliances that really could be fixed. He should know. I bought a washer/dryer right before Kenny was born. I wasn't taking three kids under the age of 5 to the laundromat three times a week during a Chicago winter one more time!! I was using and washing cloth diapers for the babies back then, and Terri was still in diapers at night. Anyway, here it is, 46 years later and I'm still using that dryer. I can't kill the darn thing! Every time it starts to act up, Ken gets it fixed. I guess the only way to get rid of it and update is going to be to go back there and shoot it.

Sharrron, good luck at the dentist today. Hope it all goes smoothly!

I know I missed some stuff...I read it all but can't remember what I was going to comment to whom. <sigh> Tea time!

Good morning Blooie! Hang on to that old dryer, it probably works better then the new ones. I am so grateful my husband can fix things.

Me too! If Ken looks at something that's broken and says, "This can be fixed but it would cost you more to do that than to replace it" or "Sound Taps" then I know it's time to look for a new whateveritis. I don't even try to second guess him. For example, I wish I still had my old microwave. That thing was a huge beast, one of the first that Linton came out with, but man, it was about perfect. It had a rack so I could cook more than one item at a time. It had a recipe book with stuff that could be cooked that way and most of them were really good. I still use that cookbook. It had a meat probe. It didn't dry things out (unless you over-nuked them!) Yes, I did use my microwave to help prepare meals rather than just heat up coffee, so it got a workout. When you can cook meats and they are delicious, you hang on to what helps you do that. This new, "updated" microwave with it's instant buttons is a piece of .......chicken poop! It dries out meats so I don't even bother with that anymore, and it's too doggone small! But Ken said that the old girl couldn't be fixed this time, so after almost 30 years of use, she had to be done away with. I got her in 1983 and used her until about 2011.

B, I used to have an Amana microwave similar to your old one. Got it about the same time too. Microwaves were pretty new back then, had to buy one at the furniture store. Got a free cookbook and they gave lessons on how to use it.

Geeze, feeling a bit geezer-ish this morning
