The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I guess we are a bit different here, there doesn't seem to be any difference for my chickens, this is still warm weather for them.

@NorthFLChick and @Blooie

I married a "Mc" - and have one of the clan's ties. Used to work for a fellow who required everyone to dress up in ties on Fridays - he was a bag piper in a kilted band. And he got me the tie as a joke, so I used to wear it with an oxford shirt and a skirt on Fridays

Good for you sunflour!

I love the sound of a good piper. Used to drive my sons crazy when they were 'stuck' in the car with me and I'd put on my bagpiper music. Once we were at a red light and the kid next to us had his car jumping with an enormously loud rap song. The boys said "Turn up your bagpipes Mom". So I did, as loud as I could. The kid with the rap music rolled his window up. We laughed about that for a long time, lol.

Does it usually stay pretty warm over where you live?
Nope, I'm in Wisconsin, this is still nice weather, now January and February, that can get brutal, I can't wait for those -20 to -30 days with wind chill warnings of -40 to -50, Now that's cold weather, when your face freezes solid and everything gets chipped out of the ice, then my chickens look a little bit cold.

I need to make that feather comforter for you :)

I do not envy your winters.

Anything is better than rap

I enjoy those evenings when it can get so cold you hear your siding and deck popping and cracking as frozen stuff shifts. Some years can be a bit milder, but then there's more snow, so take your pick, tons of snow or really cold, I do prefer it over summer weather, I think I have Eskimo in my blood, and I melt in temperatures over 70.
