The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I don't know what it is, but it's beautiful!
would love to know what it is, husband found a bunch of nuts on the ground and he picked a few of them up for me and shelled them when we got home, inside they have four sections with a nut on the inside of the inner shell, they have a outside covering like a walnut or pecan

Score!! I actually found toilet paper!! I managed to get some for myself, for my house bound neighbor, and for a VERY pregnant lady who couldn't make it to the back of the store through the crowd of people. :woot
And I have to say that was the most surreal experience I've ever had.

I haven’t heard stories like this since the Cabbage Patch doll craze!! Nicely done!

It IS!! Flowers up here just don’t seem to be very showy, no matter how we try to baby them! Hummingbirds would love that flower!!

B, have you seen any hummers yet this year? Maybe it's too early I don't know. Last year I only saw 1, but in previous years I've seen several.

NOOOOOOOOOO. Don’t get sick! Nobody on this thread is allowed to get sick!!

I can imagine, especially if she’s as stubborn about going out as I am!!

Doggone it, you can’t get sick either!!! I forbid it!!

That does it! You’re all grounded until I turn 80!!!

I think I told you all that Katie tried out for the school play, but she said she’d be happy even working on scenery. Well, she got a speaking part in Kamp Krazy.....she’ll play Mrs. Thistlemist, the owner of the Kamp. She’s so excited!
That's great Blooie!

I saw one back in February here, obviously a scout....it was 28°F the morning I saw it! :th

Hummers are all over the place around there Staking out the bird of paradise and the Lantana.
Just saw part of a documenary on humming birds. Very interesting stuff. I had no idea but they eat little tiny bugs when they can catch them on the fly... And they have to eat ever fifteen minutes.

So how do they sleep? They go into a form of hibernation called bromate. Their heards slows to forty eight beats per minute. And cannot move even if they wanted to escape a predator. they have to warm up in the sun and gradually wake up before they can go about their day.

We are on their migratory path to "Other Parts". So we get to see some unusual ones.
