Funny how much stuff can accumulate so quickly, isn't it? Let us know when you leave so we don't worry about you disappearing for a few days! And whenever you leave, have a safe trip.

Next year when you get to FL you can try planting carrots earlier Sharron. I've planted them in November here and they did fine. If it was going to freeze I'd just cover the bed with an old sheet at night.

Well ..Dr called me concerning my husband and the test for his prostate. Long story short, he asked if we thought it would be best for him to go through surgery if he has cancer. He explained how slow this cancer is. How hard it would be on him with his Alzheimer's. I had never thought about it. Boy, did I start reading. Sure enough, it's slow. And yes, I know it would be hard on Scot. I did talk with him. He understood, I had to explain it a couple of times, but he says...no..no surgery. I like having him just the way he is right now..for a while longer. Going through what he would have to would have him declining even faster. So, no surgery.
Just what you guys don't need, more stress.

Your poor girl's going to be a bit of a gypsy for the next 6 weeks then.
Yep, hadn't ever considered we would be "couch surfers". DW and I got kicked out of the retirement community my Dad lives in while she and I had Dad's car at my sister's. Couched surfed at her place for 2 days until our flight back home on Wed. The flight from So. Cal to JFK was maybe 15% full though the flight up to Vermont was nearly full.

It's cold here today
As it should be, it is now fall in the southern hemisphere.

Among other things, this
Hey, put that on eBay, might be worth a lot of money ... until people figure out that TP isn't in short supply other than due to all the hoarding. Eventually the hoarders will have their 5 year supply and the store shelves will be full as usual.

I'm glad your DD has her insurance up there and her living arrangements set up. With students having to leave the dorms, are schools reimbursing parents who paid for the rooms?
Presumably so. They kicked back a bit of the tuition in Feb when the profs and librarians were on strike for a week.

Yum! I guess there are SOME benefits to living in places where it is way too hot in the summer ;) My sister's plant has several as well. Here they are annuals and the plants are only maybe 2' high when producing. My sister's are more like large shrubs.

Good morning everyone. I saw that hospitals are asking people to sew masks for hospital personnel . There are directions for making them on the net I am sure. Some folks might want to make some for themselves.
What fabric are they using that would be tight enough to keep the virus out? Or are these just like regular surgical masks that would keep someone from spewing the virus (if they have it) into the air?
