The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Well, I think I've done enough for today, with the storm last night-the winds were crazy and blew two buckets and a kiddie pool into the bamboo :( Slipping and sliding down the rocks, mud and bamboo branches trying to take me out, I finally got everything back by the gator. Thankfully we have to wait for the weekend to finish moving the mulch.
Hope everyone's day is good and uneventful.
glad you're ok sue, that sounds rough going

Michelle, sorry about the white stuff. Hope it's gone soon!

Sue, sounds like an eventful morning. You better stay inside and take it easy today.

Sour, good morning to you!

Sharron, the possible meat shortage has been in all the news. That's one way of guaranteeing we have one...everyone is going to be stockpiling it now. I think we're pretty good for quite a while, I always try to keep the freezer full.

yes, if worse comes to worse, we're good for at least a year and if i can get the garden up and producing, longer, i have other types of things too, fish both frozen and canned tuna and if worse comes to worse again, can go fishing close by for fresh but the poor people that don't have anything but the grocery store will be up a creek without a paddle
That's for sure! We go fishing also, and I'm working on the garden. I have a shade garden because some things just don't take the sun here and filling that with herbs, flowers and cool season crops. I'm also working on a full sun garden, laying the foundation for the barrier to keep my flock out and then filling it up with rabbit poop and dirt so I can plant in fall. I just ordered a ton of seeds for that.

We've had some rain here off & on since yesterday. It's mud season :)

It was nice to see the house up in Casper, I haven't been since mid-February so got a chance to see what DH has been working on. I helped him replace the back door and we got the bathroom vanity lights picked out as well as the new screen doors.
Nice progress!

guess we will do something outside today seeing as the weather the rest of the week is going to be nasty, between the weather and the virus, this season is very depressing, they're talking snow flurries toward the end of the week
sooo have a good week
By the end of the week, we go up to the mid 90s. It has been fairly nice here the past couple of days

so the weather people say, sigh, so tired of this but nothing i can do about it
here in pa i just heard that theres a meat shortage, so now people are being limited to how much beef they can buy at the stores, so glad i have a freezer full of beef and have a small pig coming and chickens on the "hoof" and veggies. so glad i listened to "deep south homestead" on YouTube
There was plenty of beef at the normal high prices here. The shortage must be regional so far.

Luckily CA closed early so we did not have too high of an infection rate yet
