Plenty hefty! I have a sturdy luggage dolly and was able to get it the 1 step up into the porch and the 1 step up into the house. Had DD2 push from below while I dragged it up the stairs.
It works! Which is what one would hope for and expect ;)

:( And OF COURSE it won't print even black if any of the cartridges are empty or not present I suppose.
Exactly! The printer is not working now. I am waiting for an official HP magenta cartridge to be delivered on Friday to see if I need to get a new printer

Hi Jae, hope you get a chick from the weird egg!

Me too. The 6 eggs cost me about $30 (a third of that was postage) so I'd like to get something for my troubles. Plus, when there's only one egg you do get a bit attached.

The air cell during hatch is often open. The chick will eventually break into it though and then externally pip

I know - it wasn't so much that, it was the way the chick looked lumpy like they do when they have died. But it is alive - I can hear it. I think it has a lot to do with the messed up air cell which is a weird shape. The duck egg air cells grew enough to cover up any saddling (though their air cells weren't as bad as the chicken eggs ones).

I doubt the FedEx guy knocked or rang the doorbell. He came when I was up on the hill getting ready to cut some logs down to carrying size. Backed up from the road. When I came up to the house this is what I saw

He apparently got no farther than a few inches behind the truck.

And since this is a chicken forum, not a printer forum

The alpacas must have been in the barn because most of the chickens run from them.

Your place looks gorgeous - I love your house. How do you like your Alpaca? My Mum would like some.

I hope the chick makes it!

I have hatched a lot of shipped eggs so I am familiar with the challenges of odd air cells

I wish could have a rooster here!

Even the rotting fence?

Mine are not real friendly. OK they aren't friendly at all. They aren't mean and they will sometimes eat out of my hand but boy do NOT try to touch them. They shy right quick. If she gets some hopefully she can find more "touchy feely" ones. They don't eat a whole lot and mostly poop and pee in the same place though the boys were bad this winter and were using their inside area as a toilet. Lost their appetite for going out in the snow I guess.

Hopefully it will work. If it doesn't can you return the cartridge or will you have to buy another HP printer that uses the same kind or just take the loss?

This has a good printer so I might get one that uses the same cartridge.

The big cat jumped on it while it was open and broke lid.

Unfortunately my little chick didn't make it. It was malpositioned with his head pointing downwards and his beak between his thighs with no hope of being able to pip. :hit I'd heard the crackle of him trying to breathe, but I didn't think he had pipped internally as I couldn't see a beak in the air cell (now I know why he couldn't). Maybe that's why I thought he looked strange.

But I do want to hatch some Modern Game Bantams once spring rolls around so DH won't be able to say no and there is someone local with them. And we do have these two very cute OEGB babies to enjoy.

It's not rotten - it's rustic!

I had read that alpaca are a bit flighty. I can't say I blame the boys for not wanting to walk through the cold white stuff to go to the toilet though.
