The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

You guys are killing me with all the fresh produce talk. Death by beans...that's no way to go!
When I have the time and all the extra stuff, I like to Throw a couple of ham hocks in a pot of chicken stock or bacon or both and let it simmer for a while, then add potatoes, onions, garlic, and carrots along with the beans. The beans go in last and the whole thing is done when the beans are perfectly cooked. I have been known to toss in a bay leaf from time to time.

Once I get my smoker fixed, I'm going to smoke all the pig bones and then make ham stock to be canned. That will be my goto stock for beans.

They are!

My mom used to cook her green beans with onions and bacon and then put butter on when they were done. They were good.

I seem to be more sensitive to light and sound lately. Sunglasses help. When hubby uses the saw, I wear ear muff thingies.
Me too Cap! I cover my ears with my hands when hubby runs the saw. I can’t stand noise unless I make it and then sometimes not even then. When we go camping I have to block the lights with whatever is handy. This new camper has all kinds of bright stuff in it. I think I’m losing my mind.

Well, I have had Lyme disease and now Scleroderma. I don't know what to blame but I know it's new.
