The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

It was 25 this am when I had to venture out to work and high 45 - A chance to wear the long coat and sweaters

and scarves!
I am fortunate that my car is in a basement garage, so never feel the weather til arriving at a destination.

But we may get some frozen precipitation this coming weekend, if it's snow - let it come, but I hate sleet.

It was a wonderful surprise ! The egg kept us laughing all day.

Actually I did ask her about BYC - and she told me she was a former member but forgot her sign in info.....do you know if she can just rejoin?
Her chickens, ducks, goats, and confined great danes are a major in her life now. ( she fully understands that canine and fowl cannot mix).
The biggest surprise is to have 60 and all have names - and she can remember the names

And great stories about the personalities and dynamics in a really diverse flock.

Anytime I meet someone with a flock, I invite and encourage them to join us, but no way to tell if they do or don't with on line names.

Wish we had some BYC "business" cards to pass out to those folks we meet, it may get them to join in this fun place and meet all the wonderful folks who hang out here.

There are BYC business cards, I found that out when I ordered something from the store and they threw in a few for free. Here you go:

I've passed out a couple and the others make great bookmarks

@NorthFLChick do you own a coat? Honestly, some of my Florida family don't

I have a couple extra and some knit hats I can send ya.

Up until a couple months ago, I was wearing DH's old bomber leather jacket. I upgraded to my own in November (but I still wear the bomber more often than not...don't want to mess up my pretty new one, lol).

Thank you for the kind offer!

Oh...and the animals are fed, freshly watered and good until lock-up time.

 He flies back the 22nd
It is snowing up there now. He was standing in the sunshine in the front yard just now in his socks a a short sleeved shirt.
I have on a sweater and a jacket in the house.

We both have enjoyed having him home over the break.

I think I need to go back to school as well. I miss thinking.
I miss being useful.
Eggs your always useful...you bring joy to all of us.....

Good frosty morning here too...it's 30* now. The waterers had a skim of ice on them and the faucet in the sink by the run was partially frozen.

Hats off to those of you that have long frigid winters and animals to care for

I know what you mean, how folks with really cold and long winters can keep water for their animals is amazing.

love the pic - I knew someone in college who actually talked like that

But she wore a tee shirt under the "overhauls".

Quote: Thank you Phil.
I think it is more of the feeling of the the empty nest, not really needed as as mom.. I will always be needed as a mom, but he is pretty well self sufficient now.
Which is what the goal was all along.
I just did not have an exit plan.
I feel like a balloon after the party.

I walk around like

. It has been nice having him home.
He mentioned yesterday that he is getting homesick already, and I understood, we are starting to miss him already and he is here right now.

We are strange, aren't we?
