The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hi Chris! I'd offer you a hamburger or hot dog but not sure what shape they'd be in after traveling so far. Guess I'll just have to eat yours.

Hey, I've been meaning to ask you...how's that little rooster shaping up? Is he a keeper or a stew?

Ah, but you'd charge me shipping anyway, but thanks (don't fancy paying a dose of the runs!). The sausages are now en route to Dallas as we speak - so flag 'em down

Thanks for asking - that roo was sold for a profit (only 8 dollars, but better than nothing). I have another one, but he's in the grow out pen. He does look a bit more decent than the last one.

I've gotten cheesed off with either mutt birds or commercial hybrids, so I'm going to try and get a couple of "proper" breeds sent from the coast. Planning on two broody hens (Australorp, Brahma or Marans) and going forwards, I'll try for fertile eggs from the same source. Thats the plan at least, but we'll see...

Glad to hear the one roo was good for at least a bit of profit. Good luck with your plans and keep us updated on how that goes for you.

Have a great time with the employees, NFC! Sounds like a great way to celebrate.

We're just going to kick back and play with the grandkids, then barbecue pickled chicken for dinner, then tonight is game 7 of basketball playoffs so we'll all root for the Warriors.

It was great seeing all the service members honored at the game yesterday. Today, take a few moments to remember those who have given so much for our country.

Sounds like a good day for you too! Good luck at the playoffs

Good morning everyone!

Any special plans for today? We're doing an employee cookout for lunch, should be fun! Everyone has been working so hard and they are a really nice group of people.
Have a great time at your cookout. What a great way to get to know the employees better, and for them to get to know you!

We are having a barbeque here (weather permitting) and making Kendra our "guest of honor". After this week she'll be on a special diet until her colon surgery heals up. Amazing how many every day, good for you foods are gas producing, and she has to try to avoid that at least until her bags are removed later in the month. So today she'll get all the stuff she loves - broccoli (yes, I have grandkids who love broccoli) tater salad, watermelon, and cheese brats. We might even splurge and let her have a root beer!

Blimey, kids that love broccoli! Not green tater salad i hope though. Hope Kendra enjoys her feast!

Good morning all! It is a beautiful day here but we aren't doing much. We had my son's high school graduation party on Saturday and actual graduation yesterday so today has been clean up....we are just about done, thank goodness! Have a great day everyone!

Hey, Dig my chicks!

I have a little bit of advice for you for when your son moves into a dorm.
Do not bother buying two sets of sheets, cleaning supplies or anything that requires 'mom' skills. They will not be used.
We moved it back home -all of it unopened.
In a dorm room of three people, what they really needed was space.

And things that he really felt he needed from home- he never used, he was too busy. I told him that before we moved it up there, but he did not listen to me.
Next year he has already agreed that he can live with less.
Less stuff=more space.
