The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I'm a tea drinker. I have my one morning cup of coffee, then drink my tea throughout the day. In between cups of tea, I mainline Coke. Read that however you want, but the Coke I'm referring to comes in a bottle with a red, iconic label.

hey gal. read the updates on your girl.........still in our prayers.

I want you to know, I've made a serious change in my life, and it's all because of you. I expressly have made it a point to not spit on the pavement when I get out of my truck, at stores, or in parking lots.

eta: I know it sounds as if I'm being silly, but truly I am being serious, with a smile.

Thanks, Bert! Those of us with kids in wheelchairs appreciate that very much! Yuck, how I hated it when Kendra's chair (as all toddler wheelchairs) didn't have the chrome outer wheel for pushing. I'd see people spitting or blasting out a wad of juice from tobacco and know that her chair was going over spots where that had been done, and she had her hands on the tires to push herself along! YUCK YUCK YUCK She was beginning to think her name was "Kendra, give Gramma your hands!" every five minutes!

As far as her Mitrofanoff issues go, my big concern is that this loving little girl no longer wants to be held. It hurts when we pick her up. She's not even trying to walk anymore. She looks at us with some distrust that didn't used to be there. Taking her to the store often results in a mini-meltdown because when she gets in the car now she thinks she's going to the doctor. I hope they get this resolved soon because all the progress we'd made is slowly fading away. We can't do any physical therapy - we haven't seen her therapists in weeks. And the kids are second-guessing themselves and beating themselves up for putting her through this. I keep telling them that this will pass, and soon we'll being seeing the benefits of having this surgery done, just like we are seeing with the MACE procedure. But it's getting kinda hard to see that day coming at this point.

Blooie for you & yours.

Been a long weekend here...one of our little kittens (the gray boy Bam Bam) is sick, not sure what's going on with him. He just seems to be wasting away before our eyes. We'll definitely be at the vet's office early tomorrow morning.
