Yeah, that's what I thought. But I also know now that we sometimes need to be prepared to step in and help when they need us. When our kids were little, I never imagined that we were raising one daughter with such a serious metal illness that we'd have to step in and take her kids someday, raising them as our own. And I didn't anticipate our son having not just one but 2 disabled daughters. I'm just grateful to the Good Lord that we have been young and for the most part healthy enough to pitch in where we are needed. I know those days are rapidly coming to an end, but next year Kendra will be in all-day kindergarten so she'll go to school when her mom does, and get out of school a couple of hours after Jenny gets off. Timing on that was just about right!Morning!
DMC, good for you on getting your lady taken care of. It's great you were there for her.
Chris, I always thought our job as a parent was to raise kids to not need us. If they want to spend time with us, that's good but it's best for them to be independent. DS is leaving KS today and will drive to Cheyenne to spend a couple days with mom & nephew. Then we're all meeting up about 1/2 way between for lunch and DS will follow us back to our house for a few days. I keep threatening him with working while he's here so not sure how long he'll stay, lol.
No word yet on nephew's tests, the results were supposed to be back last Friday. Is it good or bad that it's taking longer?
Hope you all have a good Thursday!

"They say" that these should be the years in our lives when Ken and I should be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the time we have left. Know what? Although it may seem hectic to some, to us we are definitely enjoying our retirement just the way God intended us to, and it feels mighty good!![]()
I used to have cute little dimples. But as time marched on they sank into the wrinkles. So now I guess I have drinkles. <sigh>
Just talked to my mother about my nephew. I am PI$$ed! The doctor had tests run on my nephew's gall bladder, not his throat! How on earth does a doctor make a mistake like that?!? Now they are going to a different doc and have to start all over again with testing the right part of his body. Hopefully, the new doc knows his head from his azz.

So the wait starts all over again.
