Thanks, DMC but Ive learned to to roll with the punches in this neck of the woods (most of the time). We still enjoyed the break, so thats all that counts in the grand scheme of things.![]()
Amen, brother. Don't sweat the small stuff and much of life is 'small stuff',
Looks like magic, huh? But pretty simply, you use the holes on the opposite side of the egg. The needle has to extend all the way across the egg, so I had to buy longer ones for the duck eggs, but it's really pretty nifty.
I did see some videos online about cutting a big hole in one side of the egg, but I think the whole egg looks much better!
Even I wouldn't take my own advice!![]()
The weekend was a nice break, thanks. The duck was terrible though - it waa crucified! I spoke to the chef, who "educated " me that "white meat" should be well done - gotta laugh. But the lamb was great, so it was fine.![]()
Have already set my next batch - does that count to join? They should hatch by the 21st.

Good morning folksYep, it is 7:20 Monday morning and while I would normally be getting ready for work; after a recent health scare, I am on sick leave until Thursday. I still have a bit of bruising and swelling from a procedure so the not having to work happy dance is going to have to be virtual :yiipchick
Work involves sitting in front of a computer and working from home with no-one looking over my shoulder, the quiet times are spent on BYC![]()
Nice to meet you DMC
Hey sunflour nice to officially meet you also.
N F C thank you for the invite; it is good to be here, especially with such a nice welcome.
With the egg embroidery, I too was wondering how you curve the needle through the next hole etc. Of course, the hole on the opposite side and a long needle makes perfect sense. I might give it a try one day, it looks really neat. However, having bantams who spend more time broody than they actually do laying, the eggs will probably have to be store bought![]()
Don't sweat the petty stuff, and don't pet the sweaty stuff.![]()
