The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hi there JaeG .. lovely to meet you!

What a great idea! Thank you for joining in and helping Becky out!

Even though hubby held the flag for me on our message, he is not impressed with Becky! Might have something to do with me asking him why he does not do anything romantic! Lol

LOL, I thought those arms holding the flag looked a little too furry to be you Teila!

Great to see you here!

You do have a lot of birds and a nice variety too. It sounds like you have plenty to keep you busy.

The Valentine's Day idea was sweet, I hope she gets a lot of responses to it.

So you live in NZ and close to the beach? Sounds wonderful.

I'm in WY now but we used to live in Florida...the ocean is probably the biggest thing I miss from there.

My name is Debby by the way. Feel free to use your member name or tell us your "real" moniker, whichever you're most comfortable with.
Thanks Debby,

Sorry I disappeared - we have a very patchy internet connection at the moment!

We are lucky in NZ to never be far from a beach. It's the end of the school holidays here so the beaches have been pretty packed lately so we might wait until later in the week to go down as everyone will be back at school/work on Tuesday.

Early one morning a couple of weeks back we took the kids to the beach to do a spot of fishing. Our son wanted to take a Barbie mermaid toy to the beach (he'd much rather play with his sister's toys) so we warned him to be careful as it was pretty rough. Inevitably the mermaids tail came off (the end detatches to let water out) and disappeared into the sea. We couldn't see it anywhere and both children were distraught! Our son tried to find comfort in the fact that a mermaid might find it. We agreed to come back at low tide to see if we could find it. We thought it might be a few beaches over but miracle of miracles it was not far from where he dropped it in the water! He was so thrilled that a mermaid had found it and left it for us to find! We were very relieved too.

Anyway, everyone calls me J.

Wyoming looks to have some incredible landscapes.

I'm pretty much an old kid that never grew up. I know how I would have felt even though I never liked dolls - just stuffed animals. When my son outgrew his favorite lovey (stuffed dog) I took it so he wouldn't throw it out. He's 31 now. To me that's holding onto a part of his childhood- of course the one dog has been joined by two others because I love stuffed dogs too.

Good morning all!

The new bed seemed to be working for me pretty well. Until DH waited until 1:30am to come to bed and started playing with the remote raising and lowering his side. And the 3 cats had to come in to investigate. I might have to resort to spiking their evening waterers and DH's soda to knock them all out.

J, loved your mermaid doll story...what a lovely thought that a mermaid might have found the tail and left it where he could find it.

DD, I still have one son's ragged stuffed raccoon and the other son's worn out baby blanket. Little bits of childhood for me now that they are 2 big old guys.
