So, 2.5 weeks into coping without hubby here, I think I have done pretty well, no venting, no tantrums, no pouting, taking it all in my stride and getting on with things.
However, soon I might need some moral support because my resolve may be tested in the form of a Cyclone developing off the coast and if it does form, predicted to cross the coast between Cairns and Mackay. Guess what town is smack bang in the middle of that distance range?
There have been a few cyclones up that way [it is in the zone] but during Yasi [which was a Cat 5] in 2011 we lost contact with FIL for many days and this was a worrying period. We kept telling ourselves that no news was good news and that he was fine and he was; just no phone or electricity for a week so no real means of contacting us.
Not sure I wanna go through that again with both hubby and FIL in the path![]()
This is where you all tell me not to worry .. it won't form .. it won't cross the coast .. they will be fine![]()
Don't worry. It won't form. It won't cross the coast. And all will be fine!
Some of the most difficult times in our lives are spent worrying about things that never come to fruition.![]()
Hope I haven't missed too much, it's difficult to keep up....my job is getting in the way. But starting April I'll have some time off.![]()
YAY!![]()
Poor DH has been through it alright with 2 surgeries within 2 months. But his frankenfoot is getting better all the time and the hernia repair should be easy after that. I don't know if he appreciated me laughing this morning though...he was walking through the house and it sounded like this:
klomp, step
klomp, step
cough, ouch
cough, ouch
klomp, step
Now really, who wouldn't have laughed?![]()
