Good morning folks

Thanks for yesterday, sharing the junk drawer clean turned it from a chore to fun.

N F C gees, I am pleased you are only working part time this season or we would never see you!

Seriously now, is this just because it is the start of the season or are you going to have to keep this pace up til the end of the season?

Lol sunflour I am very disappointed in myself that I apparently did not stuff my junk drawer enough; I will try and make amends at the new home.

The plastic thingy did get tossed but the alien and police tape got packed .. I could not bring myself to part with them

Tee hee sour thank you for the chuckle x 2!

diva do not get me started on the freezers! Whenever hubby makes any freezeable meal, he always keeps a little [and sometimes very little] bit left over and freezes it. We have a fridge freezer in the shed, freezer full! Chest freezer in the laundry, also full! Fridge freezer in the kitchen, freezer full! BUT full of little bits of lamb, beef or pork roast or plastic containers of left over taco mince or bolognese or chilli or curry. I am not talking a meal here, basically just enough that it probably should just have been shared out over the plates when dinner was served or tossed out. Granted, occasionally some of these morsels were gathered and thrown into a casserole or stew or curry etc but the morsels definitely got saved more than they got used. First thing I did when hubby left was clean out all three freezers to make room for food that Son and I were actually going to eat!

Debby gave me a gifty bag when I went down there to meet her. These were in it. They don't fit over my glasses so I thought, "I'll keep them in the van for the girls so they always have a pair handy!" Yeah, well, Kendra was having none of that. They were her glasses and she put them on, left them on, brought them in the house, and they are the first thing she looks for when she gets here. Thought Debby would get a kick out of that.

Seeing the great junk drawer clean out made me want to clean all four of ours out. Fortunately the urge passed.

Sometimes junk drawers are worth a fortune. I found 3 COPPER pennies once in mine. Goodness knows what they are worth now. My father used to say "That and a dime, will buy you a dime coke." I can't remember when cokes were a dime (were they?) but, he didn't forget.

Also found a skate key from when I was 8. Should have tried selling on ebay rather than dumping out.

Every room here has junk drawers or junk closets, or junk temporarily

covering dining room table, beds, etc. However, the bathrooms are basically unjunked. You can see what is most important to me. Yep the fridge and freezer are unjunked also. Lots of space begging for ice cream cartons. Grocery store has Baskin Robins -negative pints (14oz.) for 99 cents. But the five of them disappeared days ago. Do have rain checks for more but, I'm sure a lot of shoppers do - so probably still have empty shelves.
OMG Baskin and Robins ice cream is at the Grocery?

. I really do need to get out more and explore:)

Is it sad that I'm jealous? I have no drawers in my house but 3 and they are packed with kitchen utensils. I grew up with a junk drawer and had always had one. Now I have to have "junk baskets". Just looks like more clutter in my itty bitty house.

OMG only three drawers

. I hope you mean just the kitchen

No drawers - are you Scottish ?

Hey, I'm not Scottish, but married one
big_smile.png
does that count?

Hey, Debby....she wears them all the time!

Yes, your junk drawer posts were the tip of the day :) I'll wait to give you real tips on how to use junk drawers after your move.

My DH remembers when cokes went from 5 cents to 6 cents

but I only remember when they were 10 cents :)

I used to love to roller skate - only tried ice-skating once and it was not a real fun time.

Hope you kept those copper pennies, you could eBay those:)

Don't despair you can get under the bed storage thingies, from Rubbermaid etc. I can fit 4 under a full sized bed(used to be called double, okay some actually have shoes in them and some, maybe what others would call junk.

They also have some small units with stacked shelves and wheels, you can fill with junk and wheel them to another room is you don't want company to see your stash.

I know they say 'misery loves company," do you reckon "crazy" does, too? If so, Debby, I reckon you might feel mighty welcoming toward the course manager at the Eagle Point Golf Club right now. Seems one of the stops on the PGA tour, the Wells Fargo Championship, moved from Quail Hollow in Charlotte to Eagle Point this year, so this weekend, the eyes of the golfing world will be turned on that course. The deluge we had on Monday has played havoc with the course, washing tons of sand out of the bunkers. The call went out:

"All hands on deck!"

No, wait, wrong sport . . . .

Anyway, they've been scrambling to put many, many cubic feet of wet sand back where it belongs, so the place will look good and play right should any of those high-profile pro's land a shot in a bunker.
