The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Just random bits of stuff...

It's chilly and raining this morning. Probably not a golfer around for miles.

The big to-go lunch order I was prepping for has been cancelled. Anyone need a smoked brisket sandwich with cole slaw?

Last night there was a rowdy crowd in the bar. I stepped out of the room to do something in the kitchen (right next to the bar) and I heard the ice bucket rattling. Stepped back into the bar and some inebriated joker was behind the bar helping himself to the liquour. They were all told to leave which seemed to surprise them (why? who knows). Hate having a bar to watch over.

Tomorrow we have a big b-day here! Find your party hats, blow up some balloons and get ready.

This morning I was reading another thread and there were several birthday greetings there for me (!). That doesn't happen until Nov. so not sure what that was about, but funny.

So what's happening in your parts of the world?

And given their size, likely not all that cheap to feed!
She does seem a bit "greedy" always wanting kibble and doing her begging thing, but she's not actually that big underneath her fur. Her feet are huge and she looks boofy because of the fur, but she's not that big. Bigger than my other girls, but not gigantic. (My other cat I used to have was huge, he weighed a ton.)

I'll look at cat photos any day of the week, as many as you care to share!

Sorry about your rowdy crowd in the bar Debby. Smoked brisket sandwich sounds delicious! Happy early birthday!

We are taking the kids to the zoo today. Hopefully there won't be too many showers of rain. I'll feed the cockatiels just before we go and they all seem to be nibbling at food so they should last until we get back. I'm having to use chicken food as bedding for them. They poop so much that I can't just use paper towels and I found one nibbling on the pine shavings I did have them on, but the pellets are working well.

I have three button quail chicks hatched. One is still in the incubator drying off so haven't had a good look at it yet but the other two are unusual colours, a caramel and an ivory which is a combo of the silver and cinnamon. The first two chicks were sitting right back on their hocks/backsides but I put a fluffy washcloth in for them and made a little cave out of it so they would stand up tall and push up into it like they would into a mothers feathers. Hopefully that'll help their little legs.

Excellent idea, hope it helps!

Have a great time at the zoo. I always enjoy a well-kept zoo, it really gives you a chance to see animals you wouldn't ordinarily have a chance to see.

P.S. It's not my birthday, that doesn't come until November. Someone else from this thread has a b-day tomorrow though!

Hi guys! Whose birthday?
Here's the strays that have been hanging out here. Hubby has been able to touch one but that's it. They are getting tamer though. We feed them a little bit in the morning and at night but want them to mouse also. The one is obviously a siamese but not sure if it's full siamese.
