The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

How old is she? Our’s is about 5 months and tons of energy. I knew going into it they were energetic dogs. She sure likes to haul crap up into the yard from the grove.
She is about a year and a half. Scares the crap out of delivery people. She looks mean. Her hackles raise up, she looks really serious. The female dogs in her line do a lot of search and rescue. She loves getting scents and then going in circles until she is satisfied about where the trail went.
We have lots of trails so the utv is a good option and it is good on gas.

The litter our pup came from is registered but we didn’t register Hattie herself as we don’t want pups. I will be scheduling her spay for the end of the month. She came from a litter of 8...her poor mom!
We only plan one litter so it shouldn't be too bad for her. Especially if she gets a play mate out of it. She tries to play with poor old Charlie and the cats. Just not happening.

So she's like right in her most energetic time right now, she should hopefully calm down as she gets older. Gator was a huge pain for a while too and he's not even an energetic dog aha

She might really like some scent training if you have time or even just as a hobby/games if you don't want to fully invest in actually training her seriously. I have some games I could suggest or you could probably ask the breeder.

I think the UTV is definitely a great option though as long as you don't go too fast or too long and overwork her haha

No, i am pretty cautious when driving the Mule. And i am always trying to get something done so no worry on overdoing it.

The guy we got Hattie from is training 2 service dogs, a search and rescue and a PTSD. Hattie is extremely intelligent and she’s not aggressive towards people. She barks but quits when you tell her too. No hackles thank goodness! Our biggest problem with her is jumping on people.

Ours is actually good when we call her off, she just gets over it. The only time she usually jumps up is when you scold her or she is just plain glad to see us. I have not seen her jump on other people. Husband squeezes her paw if she jumps up and i knee her in the chest , so she should be getting the message that it is not cool.

Good Morning Friends :hugs

N F C good work on getting some of your office set up. I have not seen that ‘old funny’ before and loved it! :lau

bruceha2000 We are living with my FIL now in his house so that we can do some things for him; give him some company/spend time with him and with us here now, he can spend longer in his own home than he would have been able to if on his own. So yeah, Gai does know him, knows that he definitely is not a garden person and improvements to the garden have not gone unnoticed. However, he has a lot of ‘stuff’ in the house. I am a ‘neat and tidy, things in their place’ type person and he is a bit of a ‘hoarder / prepper / leave it wherever’ person and it is messing with my head.

But, to be fair, I am sure I am messing with his head also. He has lived here for many years and the last 10 or so on his own, so it is a learning curve for everyone.

I had a lovely time with Gai and Omu chattered away constantly while we had coffee; I swear he was joining in the conversation. He has a nice big cage and I also took over a present of a wild bird seed bell, one for him and one for the Lorikeets she has in ‘recovery. Honey, the wallaby, is adorable and so is Molly, the cat. We will definitely be catching up again for coffee.

Hopefully she will soon!

It can also help to just turn around and ignore them DMC and CF

Had my nap, painted a piece of furniture, went to the store and just about ready to make a coconut cream pie.

Guess the nap and 3 cups of coffee got me going!

What ya painting?
