Algae goes in pools?
Well it isn't MY idea!! I guess there are algae spores all over and they get in the pool. Certainly there aren't any right after the spring chlorine shock. But chlorine is volatile and dissipates from the water which is why people with chlorinated pools need to test daily and add chlorine as necessary. The Pristine Blue chemicals also kill algae but sometimes it gets overpowered when the temps are high (good for algae growth). With Pristine Blue, you take a water sample to the pool store every 2 weeks where they test it (free) and you get a printout of how much of each chemical to add.

It helps to have an approachable teacher so hopefully you'll do well with all of your studies @KDOGG331

Well, I have four little quail hatched now and the last one has pipped externally, so hopefully it won't take too long. Thankfully I did put these little eggs in the incubator because three of them are that unusual colour! I think the fourth little baby will be an ivory. I found someone up north who looks to have this same colour but it would be a 6 hour round trip, and considering DH is driving me down south to Tauranga to pick up a Bourkes parakeet (which will almost be a 6 hour round trip), I think I'll have to leave getting any of her birds for now.
Not the best photo but it'll do for now:

They now look very tiddly compared to their big siblings who are getting wing feathers (and one escaped the cage this morning then started yelling for its mother - I had to go on a little chick hunt)! Here's the older unusual:

Had to look them up, very pretty!

And they are the sweetest birds to boot with a beautiful song. I have two unrelated Rubino coloured hens (one was supposed to be a male but turned out it wasn't) and I need a Normal boy to breed to one, then pair up one of the male offspring to the other hen as he will be carrying the Rubino or Lutino colour (Rubino/Lutino are recessive, sex-linked colours). So that's the plan, but finding a Normal (wild-type) boy has been harder than I thought it would be! My other ones are cinnamons but that's a sex linked colour too so I can't use it as it will brown up the yellow on any resulting "ino" birds.

They look alert and like they'll do well J...so cute!

Me either, they cost $$ ;)
I don't mind paying for the hygienist to do her work but the $60 for the dentist to look in my mouth for about 3 minutes and tell me things are fine is a waste of money. He snuck in the last time, the prior 2 she asked if I wanted to see him and I declined. She would notice the same things he would if there were a problem. Maybe it is different with people who have serious dental issues. I have 4 fillings, been there since they were replaced ~ 30 years ago. She checks that the fillings are tight, same as he does. No periodontal disease, no reason to see the doctor. My opinion, he's an expensive no-op (programmers will know what this means ;)).

Ahhh that makes sense. It's nice they do it for free.

Thanks! This teacher definitely seems nicer and more relaxed. And I think there's only one paper. It's also a community college though so hipefully easier. I should be able to handle it ha I am a little concerned about the science though since we apparently have lots of work. I mean, he said we don't and that it's one of the easier sciences, which it is, and that it's not a class to stress over but then he also says we have like 3 quizzes plus midterm and final (or maybe it was 3 tests?), a homework assignment online every week which I think averages like 20 parts, plus a quiz due every Sunday. Plus we're gonna read/cover the entire book. The homework you have all the way until the last day of class to do them, though I'm not gonna wait that long, no time limit, and unlimited attempts to redo it to get a 100 so that's not so bad. But then the quizzes close at 11:59pm every Sunday and there IS a time limit. You only have 20 minutes to do it once you start it, can't stop or pause it, and only one attempt. They're only 10 questions and supposedly to help prepare for the tests but it's just scary to me because 20 minutes isn't THAT much time. Like why can't it be even just 30 minutes instead of 20? And like with slight OCD/ADD/whatever, sometimes I kind of spend the first few minutes of tests spacing off or reading and rereading every question. I guess I just shouldn't do that though, that's something I could change and slightly common sense anyway but still. Even if I didn't do that, maybe I like to take my time and make sure I am choosing the right answer. But I guess that's probably enough time to do it, that's 2 minutes per question, and they are only multiple choice, but still. Maybe I like to think. Or also sometimes I like to look at the questions ahead of time so I can know what to study or what is on it and prepare. This one once I start it I just have to take it right then. But I guess maybe I am psyching myself out or worrying over nothing haha

Also, I think I worded the other thing wrong and want to clarify. I made it seem like the psych one was the only professor I liked because of where I put the parentheses but I meant he's really their only psych professor. They've had a few people come in and out.

Although he is the best one haha

But there's other good/great ones too. That's the goid thing, most people are nice here

And sorry, didn't mean to go off on a big anxiety driven rant about the science lol

OH!

Actually.

The other, and somewhat main, reason I am nervous about it is I am REALLY bad about having weekly assignments. Papers I do okay, though last minute, but having something every single week and a routine and schedule and managing my time and all that I am not good with.

But I guess it's just something I have to work on.

They sound beautiful

Have a dental appointment this afternoon. Just a routine check-up but I really, really don't like dental appointments :(

I'm always nervous they'll find something wrong that needs a shot to fix :barnie.

Almost done with the chicken yard....

The easy side :)

The impossible side... wish I had cut that tree :he...Hopefully next attempt we'll be able to "clean" up that spider web mess :fl

Good Morning Friends :hugs

KD I am pleased to hear you got some sleep, even if it does not feel like it. That does sound like a full on study plan. I over slept 15mins this morning because it was dark with the cloud cover and I did not want to get up ;)

sunflour I hope you enjoyed your day off. The chicken yard is looking great! :clap

Aaaw, adorable bubbies Jae! :love

N F C I confess to not having been to the Dentist for many, many years. I hope the news is good and nothing major required.

I have always feared the Dentist since I was a child. The reason was that back when I was in school, a Dentist injected the anaesthetic in to my gum; waited and then asked if I could feel what he was doing, I said I could and he injected some more anaesthetic, waited and asked if I could feel it, I said yes but I do not think he believed me. I wonder if the anaesthetic was old or he had not given enough but I experienced pain and felt the drilling etc. I remember squirming in the chair and crying but he kept going. Understandably, since then, Dentists are not on my list of favourites  I have seen a Dentist twice in 40 years!

32mm [1.25 inches] of rain overnight with more predicted today and the chance of a tropical storm. Current humidity is 85%.

Remember FIL’s swollen foot? Still swollen and he has just asked me to make him a doctor’s appointment :clap

Blooie as you mentioned, I have just kept an eye on it and while concerned, I have not mentioned it again. I have noted that he has been displaying signs that he is not feeling so good and I am pleased that he has finally decided to go to the doctors; sadly the appointment is a week away though.
