They raise Bob Whites to release and shoot, correct? We have Bob white quail here.
Yes!

Bob Whites are more regulated. Raising domestic Quail is much different. It is like raising a domestic white turkey compared to an Eastern Wild Turkey. You can do one but not the other because it is wild and not domesticated.

Here is a full list of banned and not banned animals. Exempt just means exempt from having to have a permit.

You have to scroll a bit as first they have a bunch of definitions and then birds are also down a bit. Also scroll down to 9.02, the domestic animals list (this is the exemptions list), because there are more details on the birds allowed and not.

You have to be careful because many of those rules are for game clubs. They are not about raising cots for meat

This particular list was all animals allowed or banned so I think it was for regular people but idk

That makes sense.

Here mallards are allowed but only if captive raised and a toe punched or somehow IDd as captive bred

Good Afternoon Friends :hugs

The Cuban Mojo Pork and Black Beans with rice was delicious! :drool

Debby you are getting to know me well, yes I have frozen the left overs! :p You are also talented! :clap

Cap aaaw gees, that kind of news would shake you up! I too am hoping so very much that all is OK :fl Love the baby bunny! Those little jelly bean paws are adorable! :love

As always Jae, adorable bub! :love

It is only early afternoon and I just got back from my ‘me’ day. I bought some new bras, 3 x T-shirts, 3 x pairs of shorts and 1 x dress. Then, 2 x pairs of shorts for hubby and 1 x sifter and 1 x vegetable mill for the kitchen.

I thoroughly enjoyed that cappuccino when I got to town and KFC for lunch! :drool

Did the grocery shopping for tomorrow also. Being his birthday, hubby swapped his Friday RDO for tomorrow; he tries very hard not to have to work on his birthday  So, I did the shopping so that he does not have to go in to town tomorrow either. It does not help that the fan on the car’s air conditioner is kaput and they can not look at it until Friday :(

Now I am going to catch up on my greets and then back in to town to pick up hubby from work.

While not an actual cyclone, we have a tropical low slowly circling over us and not really moving anywhere so lots and lots of rain!

It says that the animals listed are allowed without a permit. Animals not on the list or specifically listed as needing a permit are either not allowed or need a permit.

Coturnix quail like we raise is allowed in Massachusetts

I am sure each state has their own rules.

Yeah, they tend to be very long winded and confusingly word things here ha

So bob white need a permit?

I guess I was also just confused by the fact that in that list it says this

1. Blue or Button Quail (Coturnix chinensis)

But then in the second list it says this

Common coturnix (Coturnix coturnix or C. japonica).

It seems like those are 3 different species? And are button the same as coturnix?

@KDOGG331 Are you going to get some coturnix Quail?

I hadn't considered it but all this talk of quail and some research has me considering it! They seem pretty easy to raise and keep and I can't really get more chickens atm

I am sure each state has their own rules.

Yeah I'm sure they do!
