The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I've had quotes that I've already used/already quoted/replied to pop up in the 'insert quote' box and they'll keep popping up there for awhile every time I quote a different post. Weird.

The kids had some spectators when they went swimming today. It was pretty cold but they were determined to get their swim (they voluntarily got out after awhile so that tells you how cool the water was)! The steers were in the paddock by the pool and they were fascinated with the kids and watched as they yelled and splashed.

And if anyone can tell me what this tree is I'd love to know. It's growing by the pool and has beautiful flowers.

I have more quail chicks too but the three that hatched in the incubator I've managed to give to the female who has just hatched out 4 herself. Makes my life easier! As always, excuse the poop. Quail don't just poop - they throw themselves into reverse and then they poop so it ends up all over the walls! One baby has a blue spot on top of its head. I'm 99% sure I got the right one. It's unrelated to my other babies, but of course they also hatched out one the same colour which is related to mine! I'd tried liquid food colouring but that quickly disappeared, so I had to pull out the gel stuff. There's a second female in with this pair and she's being extremely good with the little ones as well, now that she's over her initial running away every time they make a beeline for her.

That's a first for any of us. Those pipes won't be thawed out until June or July now. Usually, we get snow.
Hopefully there won't be any surprises when they thaw, like a cracked pipe.

once they found out how much it would cost, they all decided to cross their fingers & hope for the best
As Cap said, not the smartest plan. They KNOW it needs to be done and you just KNOW that Murphy will make sure a major line will break during the busiest time of the year leaving you closed due to lack of water.

Mmm, Shepherd's Pie is so good.
I think so too. Unfortunately I'm the only one in my family that agrees.

But anyway, from 330 it took several more hours to actually get the crew there and fix it.
Limited resources, they are going to work on breaks that will return service to the most people first.
Our food's probably all bad though?
Probably not. At least if you kept the freezer and refrigerator doors closed while the power was out. It was maybe 24 hours right?

That's a cute idea that you can change the patches.

Right!? I love that option!

I didn't think I'd use it but now I'm thinking about all the cool things I could get it to say haha

Hopefully there won't be any surprises when they thaw, like a cracked pipe.

That makes sense. The whole town was out almost so they probably wanted to do other areas first.

That makes sense. Except I did open the doors several times :( last time I did not.

And yeah I think but maybe longer. It was out Tuesday morning until last night around 8. But my brother turned on the generator but I'm not sure when he turned it on. But then when we went off around 3:30 he turned it off again cause he didn't want it on when we weren't home? Idk. So it was off until it came back on.

I think I found the perfect patches for Gator LOL

Probably won't get them though but hilarious!

They have 32 pages just for the large patches! Then ones for the smaller sized harnesses. Most are in German or other languages though as they're made in Germany
