The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Well, I got most of the garden planted today. Still have to put out tomatoes, peppers, herbs and some broccoli.... And I cobbled together a chicken barrier out of left over fence, zip ties and T-posts. Folks on the garden thread said I didn't need to buy the deer fence that 2' chicken wire would work. So I've used a combination of 2', 3', and 5' chicken wire and a 10' piece of 4' 1/4" hardware cloth. It's definitely country engineering, but appears to work. I still have one more hole to block off, but they haven't discovered it yet.
nice!

It was funny... I hadn't blocked off one of their favorite entry points when I took a break. Came back and had a hen totally confused stuck in there because she couldn't remember how she got in. She didn't do any damage as all she did was pace the fence line... She would get within 2' of the totally open space and turn around and walk it again. BTW this is the hen who likes to lay eggs on top of one of my chicken houses. She flies really well, but never thought to use her wings. BTW, collecting eggs from the top of the chicken house is a real pain.
They are very silly!

that pizza looks delicious! :drool

Kelsey I hope your back recovers quickly. Great pictures and awesome job! :clap

Love the hanging basket Cap!

Tee hee at the funny Debby!

Not that I need a reminder of why I want out but today is release day and I have been here 4 hours and resolved 26 of the incoming 41 tickets received so far :caf

Luckily hubby’s cold has not affected me too badly to date, just a few sneezes and a bit of a sore throat; unlike him who completely lost his voice yesterday and looked like death warmed up! ;)

I got another pressie from Hubby on Thursday! Should I ask him what he did? LOL :gig

Some questions are better left unanswered, Teila - and unasked! Reap the benefits! :lau

Tee hee, yep, I should wait until the presents stop coming and then ask! LOL

Just kidding; I trust him. On both occasions he just "saw them and knew I would like them" ... now I just have to bide my time until the clutter has gone and I have somewhere to display them ;)

Men are supposed to get sicker then women. I suspect the high level of neanderthal DNA that I have might have made me an exception though. I do not get sick often or very sick when I do. 23&Me says I have more Neanderthal DNA then 23% of people that have taken their test...It really is not that much though! I do have an expression of it though. My hair is straighter than it would be without the Neanderthal gene

Pizza was very tasty! Next time I will use the pellet grill and a pizza stone

Jealous! I planted some peas, carrots, beets and spinach last week but more on a wish and a prayer. It was down to just above freezing all morning - but I think spring really is coming tomorrow....I hope? Would love to get more planting done!
Good luck with the barrier!
In the fall my chickens got into my garlic - I re-planted most of it, though some of the rows aren't too straight! :)
