Getting ready for our trip to South Dakota early Monday morning. Evan just left this morning to spend the summer with his dad and other grandparents, so that means that Tam is home alone. But no worries - she's going to stay here and take care of Fiona while we're gone. Fiona took to her crate like a chicken to a feeder, so that helps a lot at night. She's a great dog, but she's still a puppy and she's still a chewer. <sigh> With a mouth that size, a table could disappear in mere hours. But with her being crate trained now (even though it means my living room is gone!) Tam can put her in before she goes to work and let her out for the day as soon as she gets home. That's only for Friday and Saturday since Tam works overnights on just on Friday, Sat, and Sundays, and we'll be home on Sunday so Fiona should do just fine those two nights. The rest of the Tam will be here and up to supervise the little (big?) monster. Stocked the fridge, got fresh sheets in hot running standby, so Tam should be set.
After Fiona's spay surgery, we'll be able to board her when we go out of town. Tam won't always be able to stay here, and we know that. It just happened to work out perfectly this time. Found a really good kennel only 50 miles from here in Cody, so we're comfortable with that, especially as often as we'll be gone when Ken becomes Grand Master in August. Some of this stuff is all stuff you don't really think about when you fall in love with a cute puppy face, but it's all part of having them. When Kenny and Jenny lived across the street, they just came over in the morning and let Molly out, made sure she was fed and watered, and played with her. They could see her in the yard and keep an eye on her while they were at home, so it was no big deal. Molly was also older - less inclined to chew or get into trouble. But now they have a huge dog of their own, and live on the other side of town, so the entire equation has changed. And Molly's face wasn't at counter level, either!
Teila, good to see you peeking in from time to time.
Jae, an escapee is a good way to get the blood flowing early in the morning!
I know I've read everything but just so much going on!!
