The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Wow your lotteries get big. Here it's usually 1 million, though I think it's got up to 30 million with the powerball before. Not long ago 40 people won first division! They all got $25,000. Heck - I'd be very grateful for that amount right now.

Take a really good look at your prospective land there may be several places to put a house... and or out buildings for livestock. Do you get snow? is there a stream bed?

No snow for us - not in sunny Northland. I'm not sure if there's water on the property - we didn't make it down into the trees last time. It's a big drive for two kids that aren't used to long car trips, so they were hungry and tired by the time we got there (after stopping to chat with the agent). And then it started to rain on us - just enough to be annoying. We can explore more tomorrow when they are at my parents. It's supposed to be a lovely day.

I love Labradorite and that necklace is stunning! Can't wait to see your horse drawn carriages too.

Lotto winnings would go into a Jewelry shop and a Metal shop... for making horse drawn carriages.

Its already claimed.... actually was commissioned

I finally learned how to get the color to pop on the stone... Which required me turning off the flash and messing with the F stop.

here is what Blue Flash Laboradite looks like with regular camera flash but this picture shows the whole neck lace... Every inch of the wire and chain is hand made by me... By no means am I an expert... But I am learning. I have been doing this about nine months. Across a whole year. Took a break for cancer surgery and recovery.

Well, it normally doesn't get this big. I think the biggest it's ever gotten is like 500 or 600 million but they recently changed the odds (made em worse lol) I think to increase sales or something so the prizes have been going up in recent years. No winners since July which is why it's so high right now

We just use sticks and paper to start fires.
Yep, I've done that. Have lots of scrap from the workshop. But with these fire starters you can start with actual cordwood, no slow build up with ever increasing sized wood until there is a big enough fire for the big pieces to catch.

Failed the inspection because the idiot contractor backfilled everything with no water proofing or weeping system
Sounds like @CapricornFarm's DH's favorite idiot contractor is moonlighting in Alberta.

I've always wanted goats so it's good goat country! There's a rescue place here that has baby feral goats at the moment. They are so cute. Maybe next year.
Steep can be hard to fence and getting down to rescue a stuck goat (which I gather isn't infrequent) could be a challenge. Just think about such things when you are looking on Sunday.

Yeah I was thinking I need to get a couple of those long handled grippers!
I picked some up for DW at TSC 2 years ago. She finds them useful. She wears short socks so she can get them on when she is stiff. Never heard of sock puller uppers, will have to investigate.

That's true but you could invest it and it sure would be nice to have the money lol
Probably could live on $500 MILLION even without investing.

And probably have to pay them too
Yep, they don't work free ... or cheap. But one could easily cover the cost even if they split the lottery with a couple of people.

True but I was just thinking if someone didn't want to spend it all or become affected or changed by the money. Some people blow it all. Plus good to grow it

Very true! But still sucks having to waste any of it.

:barnie Quail! The male that's in with my girl who had babies hatching today (who was parent raised himself so should be the perfect father) went on a rampage and killed 3 chicks. I've managed to save 3 and the other two eggs that are yet to hatch are under little Waddles who loves raising babies despite being disabled (slipped tendon as a chick). She's just started brooding some eggs so I'm hoping she'll transfer her affections to these new ones that are in more of a hurry than hers. Once (if) they hatch I'll try and give her the other 3 (who may have to go to my parents with the kids and dog tomorrow seeing as we have an open home while we are up north). :th
