The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

It had some coloring in the wings but I couldn't make it out. The only place I ever see it is on my roof. It's as though he peers over the peak to see if I'm there. I've only seen the whole bird once. He was standing on the peak when I walked up the stairs, and really too far without my glasses.

I have a ton of blue jays, cardinals, robins and many other birds I can't identify visiting now. They usually stick around until the middle of Jan then go further south. They'll visit again in late march/early april, but only stay for a day or two.
 
Well the only thing I know of that has a duckbilled or spoonbilled appearance and is small like you say, is an Asiatic species. The spoonbilled sandpiper. Here's some pics!
