Golly that sounds like he switch your meat with an older animal. You are paying good money for a service that should not include such a big "tip"
i've also heard from different people that he also takes meat and sells it over the counter, i just wonder how he stays in business, aa far as the butchering goes, he manages to have alot of people buy meat from him, he has a meat market

Look how dapper my fur niece/fur nephew look in their Christmas picture. :D

we went shopping this morning, ollies first, bought a few things, then had lunch out, then stopped at public's (grocery) on the way home. while in the meat section noticed they had butchers bone broth, a pint for 6.49
It is easy to make bone broth in an instant pot (or any pressure cooker)

Ohhhh...he is for sure scamming people!
Take in good quality local animals, cut up and sell at the market. Buy junk animals at auction, cut it up and give it to the people who brought in animals. Hmmm I wonder if there would be some way to mark it such that you could prove to the cops that he was selling your meat over the counter and that what you got was not your animal. DNA?? Probably expensive.

Hi Becca and welcome to hanging out with great folks in a fun place,

What a nice time frame to have to stay awake in case you have to hide from a tornado. Wouldn't want to try sleeping in the bathtub "just in case".

Someone mentioned snow?
It wasn't supposed to snow yesterday but we got some light stuff anyway and from the living room the sun was just right for making a snow globe
It does look like a snowglobe.
You all sure were chatting it up last night! Kind of fun to read back over it all :)

I'm going to call our vet this morning and see if she'll take a look at Opie. He's still not his usual self and I'm worried about him. It's like his "spark" is gone. I miss my old ornery boy.
I’m glad you are taking him in:hugs
I used to work with a gal that grew up poor on a farm. She told me once that all the kids in the family would fight over the fried chicken feet, they thought those were a real treat. Not really meat on them, but she said you could suck out the inside of them and it was delicious.

Ok, might be too early for that bit of info :sick :gig
Hurl!! Not sure if that’s a real word:gig
We literally have to call it "white meat" to be able to eat it! I bought an 1/8 share of grass fed, organic beef for the freezer...He's still suspicious of that meat. Went to the store and bought a steak for the grill! Love that guy but he's nuttier than squirrel turds!
:gigNever heard that before!
We're back from the vet with Opie. Turns out he somehow injured his back, right upper leg and it's swollen plus he's running a fever.

The vet gave him 2 injections and I have some pills to give him over the next 3 days.

Hope that gives me back my sweet boy!
Poor guy! Hope he feels better soon!
yeah, i tried one about a mile from the house that had taken over the business from his father, my opinion, hes a crook, i think he switched my beef for another, was suppose to give me my bones, liver, heart & tongue, he had my directions on how i wanted it cut and how i wanted packed per pound, nothing was what i wanted, when i asked about my bones, i got a box of someone elses box, with name on it, also toughest meat i've had in my life, my beef was young so should have been tender, to this day i will tell anyone i think hes a crook
We got half a cow from our neighbor a couple months ago. The meat was processed by someone he knew. Not sure what happened but they are not labeled right so I don’t know what is in a lot of the packages. It is very wet also as he didn’t let it hang very long. It’s hard to fry a hamburger as it falls apart because of all the moisture.
