The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I knew a husband and wife Years ago that moved to New Mexico and opened a Bed and Breakfast for Equestrians.... They had little one room cottages and corrals close so the people could tend their own horses. On the edge of BLM land so the trails would never be closed off.

He was a fabulous cook.... She was the social person.... He a retired engineer ... She a retired School teacher.

I never heard from them again so I assume they did OK.

I am like the others though. Would love a little store front where I could hang a "Gone Fishin" sign any time I liked.

It takes someone social to deal with people like what you'd get at a B&B. I'm not cut out for that.

When DH & I had our little shop, it was exhausting dealing with the public 7 days a week. The friendly customers that wanted to spend an hour shooting the breeze were the worst. I always wanted to tell them to buy something or leave, I had a ton of work I couldn't do when they were just there hanging around (we didn't have employees, just me and sometimes DH). And don't get me started on the ones that would spend 90 minutes trying to decide which 25 cent post card they wanted to buy...and then would leave empty-handed. But I'd have to stand there to be sure no one stole anything.

Ugh! Put me in a back room somewhere by myself and I'm good :p

I can imagine!!

It's even worse when you can't narrow down to a state or region. DW and I spent 10 years trying different places (vacation) and in the end had a bunch of red Xs on the map, then we came here to visit friends and this became the place. Spend another two years researching before finally coming out on a house hunting trip.

I’m afraid I’d have no problem saying don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Morning, sharron. We ate out last night. Supper for me was salmon and a double order of broccoli - It's a good thing that I really like broccoli - it is my 'go to' when we eat out. Snacktime saw me munching on pecans, but I sure wanted some of that cake. :hmm
thats what we had for dinner, not supper:thumbsup

Hi Sharron, nice to see you back! Sorry about the computer woes.

There are so many great places in the country it is certainly hard to narrow it down!! Then you add on top of that that Finland kind of sounds cool to me too :lau
