That sleeping state is also called “torpor”. I never heard the “bromate” term before. Here I have 4 breeds of hummers, I am crazy about them. If a plant doesn’t attract and feed them, I won’t plant it in my yard. My yard is actually certified by the a National Wildlife Federation as a National Wildlife Habitat, primarily because of the hummingbirds I have.

How many do you have at one time? My sister gets a lot where she’s at. She gets bluebirds also, in town.
