Unfortunately my little chick didn't make it. It was malpositioned with his head pointing downwards and his beak between his thighs with no hope of being able to pip. :hit I'd heard the crackle of him trying to breathe, but I didn't think he had pipped internally as I couldn't see a beak in the air cell (now I know why he couldn't). Maybe that's why I thought he looked strange.

But I do want to hatch some Modern Game Bantams once spring rolls around so DH won't be able to say no and there is someone local with them. And we do have these two very cute OEGB babies to enjoy.

I had read that alpaca are a bit flighty. I can't say I blame the boys for not wanting to walk through the cold white stuff to go to the toilet though. :lol:

Were they in cartons big end up? Most shipped eggs and those with wonky air cells to better since it helps the chick find the correct end of the egg
