Our season lasts up to the end of October! Crisp mornings, warm days & warm/cool evenings...then right about the end of the month we get a cold snap & we are looking to winter, which most years is pretty mild, there are exceptions though.

Last year was a killer winter for us (ask the old timers on this thread, they heard all about it...every day. ) I'm hoping we get a mild one this time around.

Hi cheepteach! How did you come up with your member name?
I was a special ed teacher and several years ago incubated eggs in my classroom. A coworker with chickens helped us start our little flock. Thus, Cheepteach. I used this website in my classroom for the students to do research

That's cool! Thank you for working with special needs kids...my nephew falls in that category and had some great ones during his school years.

just finished canning some butter, think i will go and have a nap, come to think of it, did get up at 4:30 this morning

i'll keep these i only planted 10 seeds and some of the others he recommended, i think its gladiator but the super sauce really showed itself really well, now for the taste, still have to wait and see

We love Gladiator tomatoes...that is one of our all time favorites! My husband always raises 5 or 6 varieties. This year, we bought some San Marzano tomatoes for sauce...they are not very large, but hopefully they will make good sauce! I will be looking forward to the verdict after the taste test!

I can't remember now why I resisted nap time so much when I was a kid. I was up every 2 hours last night, a nap sounds perfect!

I wanted to buy some tomatoes at the grocery store yesterday. All they had were grape size and one beat up looking large one. Guess we'll be having our sandwiches tomato-less this week.

I'm so looking forward to being able to garden next year!

i'm looking forward to trying these supers, not only for sauce and whole tomatoes but also to see if they make a good eating tomato(sandwiches and salads) husband likes a old fashion tasting tomato, i like a mild like the pineapple or peach tomato
the less work i have to do peeling and chopping the better i like it, sometimes my hands hurt when i get finished from arthritis
