The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I volunteered to puppy-sit for my daughter while she went on vacation. She has an adult Newfoundland mix, and a sweet little golden retriever puppy, and I absolutely adore these dogs. The golden is just a little love bug, but the newfie is way too interested in the chickens. He's keeping me on my toes for sure. I'll have them until Sunday morning. It's gonna be a long week. 😏

Morning DMC, were you able to sit out and enjoy some sunshine on your porch?
Yes! :D
Good afternoon all. This was the Mondayest Tuesday ever! We had system issues at work, my new name is apparently Patti and it was not productive. Is it Friday yet?
Never heard that one...sorry IM!

You're going to need a vacation by the time your daughter gets back from hers! Newfie's are such handsome dogs (and goldens too).

Talked with the vet today. They said they don't deal much with chickens but are willing to send mine to the state lab for a necropsy. Just need to decide when to put her down. I really hope I can get some answers :fl

Having to put down one of your flock is such a hard thing to do. Hope whatever the issue is, the rest of your flock is ok Riv.

Thank you, Debby. This is the third one with the same symptoms and the second one I will have to put down. I have another chicken that suddenly developed a crop issue but hoping it's not related to what is going on with the others. The other 7 chickens seem to be doing well!

That's always worrisome when they aren't well. It's hard to pinpoint sometimes what's going on with them.
