We had a fireworks storage facility blow up a couple of days ago. When the second big blast happened, I thought someone has bumped the door.

It was 16 miles away from us too! There was a 78 acre grass fire and 7 people are missing, presumed dead.

I don't want to brag but our high was only 86 today! That's normal for midnight but not in the middle of the day. My hubs said we are due for a nice summer. I guess this is it.

Power surge strips protected the computer and televisions. Furnace, oven, appliances, 10 light bulbs fried, but the house and inhabitants are okay. Insurance company is making positive sounds about covering costs - hopeful.

I am so glad that y'all are okay. I'm sorry about the damages. I hope your insurance gets on the ball and you all can get replacements quickly. Where will you be staying in the meantime?

I read about that. I didn't realize it was so close to y'all. I'm glad you and your family are okay.

House is fine - other than having no furnace or hot water. AC for some bizarre reason was unscathed as was the cook top and microwave along with the freezer and refrigerator. It was truly bizarre.

I'm glad some things were not damaged and its good you don't have to leave home. Maybe it won't be so overwhelming replacing what needs relacing.
