The Odyssey/Eros flock

Oh absolutely, we humans have pulled away from our natural environment to the extreme limit. We have disconnected from our world that evolution, most of the sciences, the understanding of where we and other creatures stand in the scope of things, that this subject and other subjects are no longer thought of or understood. Unless one has an interest, it becomes one of those things that becomes lost to our consciousness.

Well said, once again. It is time we start trying to find a connection with nature once again, because not doing so will be our detriment

I totally agree! I personally think mankind is in for a rude awakening in the not so distant near future, I don't believe there is any saving ourselves unfortunately. Until all of humanity sees there is a problem, we can never heal.

Yup. Until we all face the reality our planet is heading towards, we won't be able to save it

In about a week, the Tsouloufates will be 6 months old. They have definitely inherited more of the mountain Tsouloufati genetics, especially the pullets. The boy is looking good. His comb has not dropped, surprisingly. It's grown to a reasonable size, well on its way to becoming the huge comb his dad has. Glad to see the gene passed on

That is one handsome boy! 😍 I just love his feather pattern, so pretty, gorgeous comb too! :love

Thank you! Let's just hope that the comb

doesn't drop.

He came out way more barred than his father, but I am not complaining! This is an accepted colour, and I was really hoping I'd get something like this. Remember when we though his sister was the only cockerel🤣?

It's not common to see such colors in standard chickens, so he's pretty stunning! All the colors are perfectly placed! ❤

We need to invent some sort of cockerel detector for chicks, our guesses are futile. 🤣

Yes, I don't think I've seen many standardised breeds with this colour. Maybe it is not a colour that can remain the same when bred? Seriously though, sexing any chick younger than 6 weeks is sooo hard!

I am clueless with genetics and colors passed on to offspring so you might ask in our Genetics forum on this. I need to educate myself on this. 🤣 But yes, it's a crap shoot guessing genders of young chicks, they love to prove us wrong. 😂

Oh I'm equally bad at genetics!

Absolutely. And I've never found behaviour to be a reliable way to tell either
