Here is Mason, our 4 year old Black German Shepherd. He's the only animal at our house that my husband will claim lol. Mason is an all around great dog. He's always willing to play with our 3 year old daughter and even tolerates her playing 'doctor' on him. haha. He doesn't really bother the chickens but if they are out of the run he likes to herd them a bit. Thats just in his blood though, he can't help himself! He is such a great protection dog, you just say that special word and he's off. To this day he has killed 6 opposums and 4 raccoons in our backyard. Sorry if that offends anybody, but it just means less predators that would try to get our girls. The only thing I have to say that I'm tired of with him is the hair!! We seriously have to vaccuum every single day. Or I should say 'I' have to every day lol! The don't call them German 'Shedders' for nothing! We battled his skin and tummy issues for 2 years and now he is on the B.A.R.F. diet. (Bone And Raw Food) He's been eating only raw meat and bones for about 7 months now and loves it. What dog wouldn't. His itchy skins and hot spot are gone and so his stomach problems. He is a much healthier and happier dog. We love him so much. I think we will always have a German Shepherd in our family.
