Morning! I too can not sleep... not by choice. Since I had my galbladder removed on Feb. 16th, I can only sleep from about 10pm until 1:30 am. I hate it!! I have the worst heartburn that literally takes my breath away, I can not even sleep sitting up. I am a person that needs a good nights sleep to function well, plus I have two small children to chase after and I work full time. It is really catching up with me, I am getting very grumpy and forgetful. Anyway, I get my coffee and get on the BYC!
My late nights began when my mother was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I suppose it's stress.
I understand completely the being grumpy and forgetful. My mind seems a bit worse every week I loose sleep. It's very frustrating.
I don't have small children any more to chase but I do have quite the menagerie of pets here on the farm to look after and it takes quite a bit of effort. If I'm not on my game, it is hard.
Well, I have been up about an hour. I've got a road trip tomorrow and NEED some rest really bad so I think I am going to try and go back to bed. If I can manage to get to sleep in the next hour I can at least get about an hour and a half more rest in before I have to get up.
I hate it when I am all drug out and have lots of things to do!
Yes I've always had a bad stomach and when I get stressed, I make it upset. My mom has been fighting cancer for 3 years now. First lung cancer (never a smoker), then it went to her brain, now it's in her spine and she can't walk and is in a wheel chair. My dad is a recovering alcoholic who fell off the wagon because of this latest illness so now I have to make sure I take care of her too. I'm sure all that added stress is not helping the problem.
Anyway, on a good note, I have a few silkie eggs in the bator due to hatch today. When I last candled before lock down, they looked good. I had ordered 12 eggs and only 4 of them did anything. Hopefully I will have 4 new baby cheeps today. My husband set up the bator before the eggs were here and he stuck a silkie egg in there from one of our girls. I didn't realize he had done that until I put the shipped eggs in. By then there were already veins and I couldn't throw it out. Long story short... we have a lonely partridge silkie in the brooder with a mirror and stuffed animal waiting for it's brothers/sisters to be born.

I had mine out a few years ago...the heartburn stopped for a while...but now a have a stomach hernia...so it is back...
It really is terrible to be woken in the middle f the night and have to deal with such discomfort without waking the whole house.
But its only 8.45 pm here...so its not really late for me.....

Did you ask the doctor about this? Usually getting your gallbladder removed takes care of the heartburn. I have HB too, and take the acid reducer at Wal-Mart for $4. You get 50 pills. I take 3 before I go to bed and rarely have trouble. My DH has been reading about these medications and he takes Nexium himself, and they are not good for us. But, if you are on fire and can't sleep, you have to do something!!!!
