The Old Folks Home

Congratulations on the new gig, JD! Hope it's a keeper for you. Nothing worse than hating where you work. I used to sit out in the parking lot of the 165 bed facility that I worked at and cry before clocking in. I loved the work, loved the people I cared for. Just hated the big corporation that owned the place.

Then went to work with DH. Plum job! People always asked how I tolerated working with my spouse and I told them great! He stayed in the back office, I stayed in the front. We had lunch together and went home together. Left work at work. I know other wives who worked with their husbands and enjoyed it. Nothing better than loving your work.

Ron, I'm drinking plenty of fluids!
I got the thing with my pay cut resolved....I got a new job with much better pay! And I start this Wednesday!
I was hoping there was a good update!

What is sad is that some doctors just ignore complaints from women, as if they are making it up. I think mine was surprised I tested positive for Lyme.

Yes, from women. Also, obese people and people with psychiatric diagnoses also get ignored. I have a friend who used to be obese and she was in the ICU getting respiratory therapy when the hospitalist came in and started lecturing her on her weight. In the ICU!

Just checking in. I have my own medical complaint, though. I saw the PT last week and it was a different PT. She felt, I think, like she had to fit in the other PT wasn't doing. She taught me 4 new exercises (too many), and had me doing this stretch that gave me wicked Charlie Horse - seriously, crippling pain. Then she had me do it again (I should have said no). That night I bathed in Epsom salts, and put on more magnesium afterward. That was last Friday. My legs still ache from the awful cramps, and my muscles want to knot up, and I haven't done any of the exercises. I'm afraid to!

Back to my same PT tomorrow, hooray! I'm not sure what to say to her. I don't want to exacerbate any weird competition they might have, or whatever was going on with the other one. It really seemed like she felt she only had one shot at me so she was doing all this diagnostic stuff and new exercises.

I never had a Charlie Horse all down the back of my legs before. (Yes, I did the stretch on both sides.) Seriously, still in pain.

Everything else is great!

my doc visit went good and bad.... not ikky bad...but...

I am down to 299 pounds.....:weefirst time in the 200 s in a very long time

They couldnt get a pulse on me.... needless to say a Blood pressure... Tried the machine on each arm upper and lower smaller cuff too. Every time it made error messages.

THen they sent in the expert... Nurse good with manual cuff... She did the same thing... ERror.... She left the cuff for the doc to try...

She came in and checked my pulse in my feet and couldnt detect any though they did turn back to pink after she pressed on the skin. She Sent the gal in with the machine again with instructions to take it on my lower leg. I have Lymph Adema in my leggs...its going down but still present...

She chose the smallest leg but when she started the machine it felt like she was tearing tissue... I tried to grin and bear it but had to stopp it when the pain got to be a 13.... and rising.

Doc came in and manually took my blood pressure we both kind of held our breath... And she says best I can get is 89/60... But your heart beat is so soft. She then counted my heartbeats and they were 63...

She immediatly told me to cut my blood pressure Metoprol....sp? in half she wants to see me in two days. Yay...

Took my BP here at home and it was 84/66 63pulse... Took three tries and a switch of arms.... :th

so... Good news I am coming off meds faster than anticipated.... Loosing weight is part of that.... Finding out the dissiness was frmo low blood pressure.... yay...

Maybe I will be able to walk without my walker soon.

Other bad news Took my car to the mechanic and they say I might have a blown Head gasket.... :barnie.... could have told you that one:lau its in for diagnosis.... tomorrow we find out.

Off to live life :wee
