The Old Folks Home

Just read up on anaplasmosis, that sent me to the hospital for the long weekend. The review article says “no persistent infections have been reported.” Of course, many say that about Lyme, too, but it appears there’s a fair amount of literature on anaplasmosis in other species, including cattle. I have more to read.

And of course, if you got anaplasmosis, you likely got Lyme too. Swell.

I was trucking along fairly well but yesterday and today I feel very weak! Grumble. See my PCP in Wednesday.

Glad it will be over soon.

Is it mending well?
Yes, he said it's doing good. He will re-check her in a month, then we'll know when she gets the cast off.

The grandbaby needs glasses. They're ordered. She gets them next week. She picked them out.

Dd's car finally bit the dust.

Hopefully you caught it soon enough and the meds will cure it

I try not to think about it...

I think it is usually just about 4 or 5... but I work hard to stretch that.

Our house is well insulated and sunk a couple of feet into the ground... I think that helps.

We have been working on insulating this place since we bought it 10 years ago. The place at that time had all the warmth of a barn. No caulking, minimal insulation. We spent two years hunting down air leaks and using spray foam to seal them. Then we tore off the siding on the north side, put in rolled insulation and resided it.....only two more walls to do. Finally DH dumped load after load of dirt around the foundation. So I would say having your house dug in especially up there where you are is probably a very good thing.

@ superchemicalgirl. Love the pics. Ripley is a kick! I especially like that last pic. That expression is almost human. Remember way back when she was a puppy, determined to wreck your house and drive you insane? I told you some day she would be one of your best friends? See. Micro was right! :yesss: Now I have to keep telling myself that about these 5 heathens we rescued.

Well okay the tags you put on a license plate tag here is different and I have not been able to drive in like 7 years .. We use a good two cords of wood but we have the trash burner in the house .. I made a beef pot pie tonight boy it was comfort food even I had seconds
