The Old Folks Home

From Micro's description, yes I believe those 5 dogs could run about forever.

:lau probably!!! And probably sprint fast enough to win sprint races :lau

They have races for skijoring jut like sledding. They would probably win.

Probably would on the longer, endurance type races too.

Have you heard about the poodles that ran the Iditarod? It was a long time ago I think but they completed it several times. I think they also had huskies on the team but still.

Bet the cattle dogs could do that with ease and then still be ready for more :lau

I'm sitting here trying to figure out which one of the gang of 5 is the best behaved and quietest...would have to be Benny. He's probably the slowest runner also. The other four? Oh man, I keep getting this mental picture of that girl with the two dogs, only 4 and each one going in a different direction at warp speed. They could run fast and run hard for a long time. They have quads on them that are as big around as my husband's biceps from running and they have unbelievable stamina. Ben tends to run slower but can run forever. He also is the one who listens to us best when they are out exercising.

They love to run laps around our barn and it's pretty hysterical to see them come around a corner, shoulder to shoulder, leaning at a 45 degree angle going full blast. They get tired of doing that and run towards the chicken run to see the birds spook and then go back to running around the barn. DH asked one day if we could race them like gray hounds. I said, you mean on a track with a little furry animal to chase? A rabbit? of course DH said, no, a cat.

I don't have a doubt that these dogs would do a one dog hitch and pull our wood wagon with no problem. Until they got trained though and or some common sense, they would have to be controlled with a leash.

Told DH the other day that we needed to get them a cow for Christmas. He observed that they would just make the poor thing neurotic because each dog would be bossing it around telling it to do something different from what the others wanted it to do.

He had a point.

I think for those five you would need a herd of at least 200.

Good morning folks! I am in the final Christmas panic of trying to get work done and get my last projects done for the holiday. I finished up the peacock wall hanging now I just have to ship it. I also got a cape made for one of DD's friends. She contacted me last weekend to see if I could make a cape for her daughter. Oh and by Christmas. LOL They actually are not too hard to make. I got the "frozen" one done yesterday in just a couple of hours. I am making one more and then that project is done. I have two more I have to get done then I am done with Christmas projects. wow that peacock looks like stained glass.... Awesome. When I was young I was a crocheter. I used the afgan stich ... from a pattern I made the base and then two side panels from White thread.... then the stich is a perfect grid and by following the pattern with Blue Green emerald and black yarn Stitched a peacock on the front of it....

Then using blue and green and brown did a rope stitch to join the panels and Crocheted the eye feathers around the edges.... It took me Ten years... :th started when I was twenty five finished it when I was pregnant with my son.

I was convince that I didnt have the patients for that kind of work. But I sooo admire people who do.

then look at me now I make jewelry... I wont do anything that takes me more than a grand total of ten to fifteen hours.

Hmmm, getting away with a banned act seems like a bad idea. She'll get the idea that things are illegal ONLy if you get caught.

We would if we were on the mountain with you!

They also say "If you can ski the East you can ski anywhere".
People used to soft fluffy western snow have no idea how to set and hold an edge.

Go big or go home - heli-skiiing in Canada! Spouse did it once with her parents about 25 years ago.

Standard on sailboats for connecting sheets to the jib. Wouldn't be using cheap $7 ones though. I'm not at all sure one would have the time to pull either the horsethief or shackle pin when the dogs pull you over.
you can rig it on a bungee... come to the end of the bungee and the dogs release themselves.

we used to do that with horses that panic pulled and set back. tie the rope to a piece of bailing twine Horse pulls breaks the twine and is released.

same principle as the cutoff switch on a jet skii...
